Donna Noble is the third full-time companion of The Doctor in the rebooted BBC series. She first appears as a one-off character in "Runaway Bride," but is terrified of The Doctor and his life. She however joins with him in the fourth series, where she is instrumental to the fate of the universe. She is most known for her outspoken personality.

Biography

Donna Noble, a temp from Chiswick, first met the Doctor on Christmas day 2007. She was transported inside the TARDIS, as a result of her unwittingly being part of an alien conspiracy. Although she turned down an offer from the Doctor to join him in the TARDIS, she immediately regretted it and set out to find him.

Major Story Arcs


The DoctorDonna

Throughout the forth season, as Donna and the Doctor travel through time and space, they repeatedly hear stories of planets vanishing. Early on in the season, when the Doctor and Donna travel to the planet of the Ood and help to free them from oppression, Ood Sigma tells them that their children will sing of the DoctorDonna. In the two part season finale the Doctor is shot by a Dalek, which would normally force him to regenerate, the Doctor however only used to energy to heal himself, and poured the rest of the energy into his spare hand, which was cut off just after his last regeneration, but he was able to grow a new one. When Donna touched the hand, there was a human - time lord metacrisis, meaning that Donna gained the brain of a timelord, and the doctors hand grew into a human - time lord hybrid. The Doctor explained that all time lines were converging on Donna, drawing him and the Doctor together from their first meeting. Which the Doctor said explained the coincidence around Donna, that he met her once when she was accidentally teleported into his TARDIS, that he met her grandfather on Christmas day 2007, and then he met her again.  Donna, now the DoctorDonna, used her new found time lord knowledge to defeat the Daleks and save and the universe. After this she realized that a human mind cannot contain the knowledge of a timelord and the Doctor had to erase every memory of him in order to save her life.
