Originally known as Jonathan Osterman, this physicist was transformed into Dr Manhattan after being trapped in the Intrinsic Field Subtractor. After this, he gained God-like powers and helped fight in the vietnam war in service of Richard Nixon. He finds it hard to relate and empathise with humanity.
