Emma Stone is easily one of the busiest actresses in the business, thanks to successes like Easy A and The Help under her belt. 2012 is already shaping up to be a great year for her, since she was cast as Gwen Stacy in the new The Amazing Spider-Man film. Stone has landed a new role, committing to a film called Little White Corvette.
Variety reports that the project will feature a script by Michael Diliberti. He was also originally set to direct the film, but producers are reportedly still looking for a director. Scott Aversano and Will Russell-Shapiro are set to produce.
According to Deadline, Graham King and Tim Headington are also on tap as producers for Little White Corvette. The film centers on two siblings who go to Miami to sell a stash of their late father’s 1970s cocaine. The actor playing Stone’s sibling has not been announced yet.
The film’s script was acquired by GK Films, which has a selection of high-profile films ready for this year, including Brad Pitt’s World War Z, Ben Affleck’s Argo, and Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp.
According to Moviefone, in addition to The Amazing Spider-Man, Stone will also appear alongside Josh Brolin, Sean Penn and Crazy, Stupid, Love co-star, Ryan Gosling in Gangster Squad this year.
Diliberti recently had two other scripts picked up by major studios. An untitled project was picked up by Warner Bros., while 20th Century Fox picked up The Big Sayonara
The premise sounds like it could be decent, though it's hard to have much enthusiasm considering Diliberti's last work on 30 Minutes or Less. Still, Emma (yeah, we're on first name basis), has chosen her roles pretty well so far, so I hold hope this could be good, especially if she's executive producer as well. Now for the long wait...
