Episodes Forum

Right I will give most programs the benefit of the doubt. But in the case of Episodes the only doubt is that I doubt I will ever watch it again.   
 
Tamsin Greig and  Stephen Mangan are a small glimmering light in an otherwise dull drab and fantastically unfunny program. I know its only the first episode of Episodes but i already thoroughly dislike John Pankow's Merc Lapidus character.   
 
And it isn't that i dislike the whole cringe comedy genre.  Extras, the office and curb your enthusiasm are some of my go to programs if i just want to watch something for 30 minutes.  But all the comedy gained through uncomfortable situations is severely lacking in  Episodes.  Maybe the second episode is fantastic and the introduction of Matt LeBlanc is the real highlight, but i doubt it is and i doubt i will be watching to find out.

 
I hated the trailer, haven't seen the first episode, but I'm not very interested :/ 
it just seems like one of those pointless comedies they just throw on the air to pass time.

I thought it was pretty good when BBC advertised their comedy schedule and went through everyone then ended on 'and Matt LeBlanc' because after maybe 30 names, he's the only one that's actually funny.

I'm vaguely interested in this, because I like Matt LeBlanc, and it'd be neat if he got a bit of an uprising- a redemption, if you will.

The pilot wasn't very good but once Matt LeBlanc was actually in the show it got a lot better. I like Stephen Mangan a lot as well but Tamsin Greig  bugs me a bit. I'm a big fan of Friends but never really cared too much about LeBlanc. I mean Joey was pretty bad. However, he is really show some chops in this show so far. Been pretty impressed. 

After having seen Extras recently, I can never get into this because it will never hold up a candle to anything of Extra's standards.

I've been watching it because I really liked Tamsin Grieg and Stephen Mangan in GREEN WING. Mangan was genius in that show and he and Greig work well together.
 
EPISODES is a fairly gentle show. It's not as scaborous about Hollywood as it probably could be and LeBlanc does a decent job of taking the piss out of himself without going overboard with it.

@CashBailey: Yea I appreciate that he, or his character at least, regards his time on Friends and is willing to make jokes about it without the whole show just devolving into Friends jokes and references. 

I've had all of these and episodes 3-current of Shameless on my DVR for way too long. I think I should just delete them and move on. All of Shotime's programs can't be winners.

Seen all 4 episodes thus far, really enjoy it.

I do too. It started off real slow, but it gets better by each episode:)

Have seen every episode now, and while it is really funny at times, I generally don't like where the plot is heading.

I feel like I only really enjoy the middle 10 minutes where nothing really is happening besides jokes.

And the ending of the last episode was completely unnecessary.
