In Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed and wildly successful film, a lost alien befriends a young boy who promises to get him back home. The alien extra-terrestrial, known as E.T is helped by the boy, Elliot to hide them from the government.

Trivia:

The studio originally approached Mars for permission to use their M&Ms; candy in the film. They declined, feeling that the movie would not be successful. The studio then approached Hershey to use their Reses Pieces candy, and the rest is history.
