Knowing that Spielberg went back into E.T. and digitally removed the guns and made them into walkie-talkies makes me feel a bit better about the existence of this extended trailer for ET-X: The Extinction, a (wholly fictitious) sequel to the original film. I won't spoil anything for you, except to say that while the video is a bit too long, it's still a vindication for those of who always knew that something sinister lurked behind those beady little eyes of E.T.

It's a tad too long, but the scene where ET attacks Morgan Freeman was 10 ways to awesomeness.

For a moment I thought E.T. came to save us from the Jonas Brothers but then I found out he came to save us from aliens, needless to say I was very disapointed by that.

Okay, you've got to give them credit for throwing in clips of a grown-up Henry Thomas (Elliot) from movies you didn't know existed.

Wait, so they really did replace the guns in E.T. with walkies? Always thought South Park just made that up. Now how soon before all the guns in Saving Private Ryan are replaced.

ET 2000 was also one of the first totally terrible internet ad-campaigns, booking fullsceen ads on a lot of easily influenced "this is the future, this is right!" .com sites.

The Indy 4 trailer got similar treatment in the US, no guns in the trailer, but instead blurrily filtered photoshopping frame by frame. Oh, Spielberg..

"C'MON E.T, LET'S GO SAVE THE WORLD!"

Thank God, I was worried this wouldn't be in 3D.
