Would you Star Trek fans really want it back on the air if Seth McFarlane had a hand in it?
Family Guy can't ended, don't go the way of the Simpsons and f*** it up by making a cinematic turd!!!!

I'm of the mindset that a show should go off the air for two reasons:
1) It has reached it's logical conclusion,
2) The ratings are actually bad. Not lower than normal, but legitimately bad for the station average.
The Family Guy isn't a serial series so it will never be eligible for #1 and it obviously hasn't met #2. I say keep the train rolling. MacFarlane could always step down and let others take control of it and move on to something else. I haven't watched it in years but there are tons of people who love it. Love it to the point that it's still a ratings cash cow. Why ruin it for them? More importantly though, why not make money MacFarlane? Matt Groening (sp) hasn't really touched a Simpsons episode in year but he's getting check from them. He's literally doing nothing and getting paid. I'd never try to end a situation like that.
