All I gotta ask is WHY??? Why do we need a sequel to finding Nemo? This seems like nothing more than a crash-grab. Didn't Marlo already find Nemo? Disney is really trying to destroy Pixar's reputation aren't they?

While I'm still not entirely onboard with Pixar doing so many sequels (they're making the wrong sequel by the way- make The Incredibles 2 already!), I'm glad Stanton is directing again. Though going back to Pixar is the most logical, and the safest, career move. I hope he returns to live action after Nemo part deux, because I still think he's incredibly talented. David Fincher went through a similar struggle with Alien 3, and he's had a good career since then. Also, I compare those two in the broadest sense of them going through hell on their first feature length film.

i agree with this part of what you said. he is very talented. Stanton did give us both the original FINDING NEMO and WALL-E.

we all love the characters. if it is a good story, i think there isn't a problem. the TOY STORY sequels were both very good. and Stanton is a great director.

i am more worried, though, by the deteriorating quality of Pixar's works. CARS 2 was pretty good, but not great. BRAVE was almost bad.

@VioletEyedDragon:

Brave was a great movie, most people thought it was better than Cars 2.

most people hated CARS 2 lol

I thought BRAVE was annoying and unfunny (though not outright bad; just not good). The characters were almost sexist (shrewish uptight wife; fun-loving, irresponsible husband; daughter complaining about literally everything) and it was stupid how Merideth's defining characteristic was "being a girl." Also, what the heck did the final voice-over monologue have to do with the story?

Maybe Nemo will become a surly (yet lovable) teenager and the movie will be about how Marlo finds a connection with Nemo emotionally.

Wait, who is Marlo? Isn't Nemo's dad Marlin?

A press release just revealed the new title of the sequel to Finding Nemo. It's going to be called Finding Dory. So based on the title, it looks like Dory will be the one lost this time around.
