Finn is the star of the football team and is the most popular boy in school. Until he joined the glee club.
Who is Finn Hudson? In the beginning, Finn is going out with Quinn Fabray. It's your classic high school romance. Captain of the high school football team paired with captain of the cheerleaders. And things are going well. Until Rachel Berry over hears Finn singing. Rachel invites Finn to the Glee club. The once God of the Halls is no more. Because at McKinley High, Glee club is for losers. Throughout the season, Finn struggles with the dichotomy of being a football player (cool) and enjoying Glee club (not cool). 
Finn's father is gone. Eventually, Finn's mother meets Kurt Hummel's father (Kurt Hummel is a homosexual and fellow member of the Glee club whose mother has long since passed away). Eventually, the two parents become engaged, making Finn and Kurt brothers in law.
