Fist of Fear, Touch of Death is a film about a martial arts tournament taking place in New York City in order to crown the next Bruce Lee. The film is presented as a TV broadcast of the event.

Flashbacks

Fist of Fear, Touch of Death uses flashbacks to give the audience a better understanding of Bruce Lee's life. This is regarded as unconventional due to the film being presented as a documentary. The Flashbacks in Fist of Fear, Touch of Death range from scenes such as Ron Van Clief rescuing a woman who is about to be gang raped, to Bruce Lee's great grandfather who is described as a Chinese Samurai. It should also be noted that most of the flashbacks are just bits and pieces of other chinese films that have nothing to do with the plot of the film.
