I noticed that there is a feature of the Box Office section of a movie page that allows you to see the earnings in today's dollars. However, it doesn't actually do anything other than show the same numbers. Is there a way to edit this?

What movie(s) were you looking at this information for? How old are the movies?

Pretty much any movie prior to 2000 would show a sizable difference. For instance, Escape from New York grossed ~$25 million in the US in 1981. That's about $62 million today.

I like the current way it's done. Thats how much the movies made, as fact. Maybe as a separate section we could have a "in todays $" thing, but that would always be changing year to year.

True. It would be far too complicated to keep that up to date without some sort of algorithm (or someone) crunching the numbers every year. I guess if I really need to know it I can go use the inflation calculator like I up there.

I'm pretty sure that it used to display to adjusted numbers for inflation. I'm going to move this into the Bug Reporting forum just in case.
