Some existing pages don't show up in search?

This has happened several time, the most recent being the Düsseldorf, Germany page. Even when I search with the accent included, it doesn't show up in the search bar. It does show up when I simply type in "Germany" and tick the location box though, so maybe it has something to do with the umlaut over the u? However, I know I've had this same problem of pages not showing up in search, even without any accents. The I've Got a Secret page, for example. The only current way to find that page is to go to 'newest pages' and find it there.

Has adding aliases to location and/or concept and cliche pages been considered? It would certainly make finding some of the more obscure pages easier.

One other issue, and I don't know if others are experiencing it, but on many concept or cliche pages that have multiple pages of examples, trying to click over to another page results in a 'there was a problem loading content' message and a sad face appearing, effectively meaning you can't see or even edit any of the examples beyond the first page. Example: the Spin-Off page. Actually, this seems to almost always happen exclusively with the tv shows.

I'm using Safari 5.1 on OSX 10.7

@ashogo: A lot of these are the result of long standing bugs with the search engine. To my knowledge, the engineers are still working on fixing them. But until then, there are a few ways to get around them:

  • I think you're right that the umlaut is screwing up the search. I know there were talks about adding aliases to more types of pages, but I don't know if anything ever came of it.
  • The "there was a problem loading content" thing is also a bug, but you can get around it by editing one page at a time. Once you're done with a page, click "submit" and then go to the next one. It isn't ideal, but it should work.
  • Sometimes new pages take a while to make their way into the search system. Usually, making an edit or two to the page will expedite the process.

I wish I had more concrete answers for you, but I hope these help!

@PatVB: Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the "problem loading content" issue plagues me whenever I try to click past the first page, whether I'm in edit mode or not.
