Figured it would be better as its own post...

Criterion Corner:

Godzilla
Now on Blu-ray! Woo Hoo! I don't know if it'll replace the Special Edition DVD from Classic Media that I got in 2006 (I do know it has new special features, but I don't know if it has all the stuff that that one had). New transfers of the original Gojira and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (the US re-cut with Raymond Burr). Woo!

The Moment of Truth
I've never seen this movie about a bullfighter but if Criterion is putting it out, I'm interested.

***I should not have to try to convince anyone that they need to see the next six movies on this list. Required viewing!***

A classic cocktail from Billy Wilder:

The Apartment: Collector's Edition
Now on Blu-ray. Boom! Bought.

An appetizer of Woody Allen:

Annie Hall and Manhattan
Both out on Blu-ray for the first time. Yeah, this is gonna be an expensive week.

A heaping helping of Hitchcock:

Rebecca, Spellbound and Notorious
All now out on Blu-ray. Triple boom! Wow. I'm eating ramen for the next two weeks here.

Just in time for the Oscar nominations announcement:

Wings
Now on Blu-ray. Proving that nothing is new in Hollywood, the first best picture winner (unless you count Sunrise which won for "artistic achievement" while Wings was for "all aspects of production" - the only time there were two best picture awards) is a Sloppy Puppy Dog of a Big Budget Extravaganza that wants nothing more that to entertain you with its impressive bag of tricks (though the bag seems to only have cardboard cutout characters in it, but that's par for the course in the SPDoaBBE genre)... For all that, it's pretty good.

A Cheese Chaser:

Lethal Ladies Collection, Vol. 2
Contains three Roger Corman "classics": The Arena, Cover Girl Models and Fly Me.
Only the best in grade B cheese for me, please. (gonna have to get those last two in the database too...)

Hey, I heard it was pretty good, but I haven't seen it:

Revenge of the Electric Car

Ooooh, sounds interesting, but I have no idea if it's good or bad:

Beginning of the Great Revival
From China with Chow Yun-Fat, Andy Lau, Liu Ye. Subject: The 1911 Chinese Revolution

TV time:

Underdog: Complete Collector's Edition (1964-67)
"There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!" Oh, great. Ramen for a month now.

Mannix: The Sixth Season (1972-73)
I like a private eye who isn't afraid to shoot a dude that needs it.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: Season One
This is held in quite some regard by a number of people. I don't understand those people, but - if you are one of them - here's that thing that you like. "Beedibeedibeedi"
