I believe it was The Phantom Menance.

American Pie.

The Whole Nine Yards. In that horrible cardboard packaging that Warner Bros. used to release all its DVDs in.

My first DVD player was the PS2, which I got on launch day, so I also picked up Stephen King's The Stand on DVD the same day to test it out.

Also, the first CD I ever owned is the Jurassic Park soundtrack, which I used to test my new Sega CD. My first Blu-ray player was the PS3, and I got Die Hard 4 to test it out. Hmm... I'm beginning to see a pattern...

I have no idea but some voice in my head keeps telling me it was a Bond movie. One of the Connery ones, can't remember which.

I think the first DVD was Dumb and Dumber or Mr. Deeds. I watched those two like a million times back in the day.

First Blu-ray was definitely The Departed. I have watched that a fair amount of times too. I also now have Dumb and Dumber on BD as well. :)

After scrounging up enough money to buy a DVD player, I had enough to buy a couple things from the bargain bin.

Street Fighter and Batman: The Movie (1966), I still have soft spots for both those films!

Two quite different films. Babe: Pig in the CIty and Goldeneye

I'm not sure which one I watched first, but I got my first DVD player in 2001 and I got Blow and The Matrix.

Mission: Impossible 2, which I went all the way to Best Buy to buy as it was on sale for $19.99. I used to drop twenties on DVDs all the time in the early 2000s, which has since resulted in this monstrosity:

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Tomb Raider. I actually spent like half hour trying to rewind it because my sister had watched it and I thought it worked like a VHS. Ah what a dumb kid I was.

Shrek and Planet of the Apes

Mars Attacks back in 1999. Cost a whopping £17.99 and was in one of those awful Warner Bros cardboard boxes.

X-Men 2.

A great start to any collection.
