Aliases
Aliases allow users to find movies, people and other useful pages under a different name or a commonly used acronym. For example: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King has the following aliases:
Lord of the Rings: 3
Lord of the Rings: ROTK
LOTR 3
So if you want to get to the Return of the King page, you can simply type ROTK or LOTR 3 in the search bar and voila! This is very helpful for finding movies with Non-English titles. For example, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is also known as "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo."
It is also used for people like Samuel L Jackson who is also known as simply Sam Jackson. Aliases help everyone get to the right page in the fastest way possible. At the same time, we don't want to over-flood the database with unnecessary or confusing aliases as it only makes things harder for everyone else. So please give it some thought before requesting one.
