In case you hadn't heard just yet CNN anchor, and sometimes 60 minutes anchor, Anderson Cooper has come out in a recent interview as gay. He says he has always been gay and known for a long time and decided to become open in the public since he already lives his life open with friends and family. Link.

This is probably the greatest news for straight men now we don't have to compete with the handsome bomb that is Cooper. Hopefully this also means we can get some new episodes of The Mole. I can dream right?

More power to him.

I could have sworn he did this years ago.

@Toxin066: He's been generally ignoring or denying the 'being gay' thing for awhile but never really acknowledged it that I can remember.

@FinalDasa: He was interviewing some anti-gay rights person few years back and it got a little heated. He said something along the lines of "WE want the same rights as everyone else!" or something similar.

Good for him, a newsman needs to be able to come out and openly express himself on an issue.

I think it was good that he came out - hopefully this can influence at least some people's views on the gay rights issue in a positive way.

That was good for him. Better to tell the truth about oneself than to keep lying about it. :)
