Alright, so for those of you who don't know, the Pupcast is Screened's new "podcast" thingamajig that we've been doing for a while now, and our topic for this week kind of didn't pan out like we'd hoped and will be pushed back to next week.

So while trying to come up with topics, I remembered that I've been wanting to do a Q and A episode where we answer questions from the community.

I have no idea how many people will ask something, or which of our members will be on the episode. But ask away and we'll see if we can pull an episode together this week.

Crickets crickets everywhere...c'mon Pups, we know you listen/watch the Pupcast. We'll just secretly start making fun of people if no one answers.

Since no one else is responding, I'm going to throw down some questions. Feel free to pic and choose questions that you like (if there is any).

  1. Which movies do you think deserve an Oscar this season?
  2. What did you buy this black Friday/what will you buy this black Friday?
  3. Who is your ideal director for Star Wars Episode VII?
  4. According to the head of LucasFilms, there is going to be 2-3 Star Wars films per year. Is that a good idea?
  5. Defiance is a TV show that is premiering with its own MMO (separate from the series but in the same universe). What do you think about that?

If you could pick a director to pick up the Transformers franchise, who would it be? (Keep in mind that the new movie would still have to be somewhat related to the Bay films)

With the holiday season coming up, the question must be asked: Do you guys prefer the sentimental favorites (It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, etc), or do you like the more "modern" holiday movies (A Christmas Story, Elf, etc)?

Sticking with the holiday theme, what is your favorite version of "A Christmas Carol"?

Thanks for the question guys, they were great. We've decided we're going to keep this forum open and try and do Q and As on each episode, so submit your questions now for the next show. PS, Stacey is going to be on the next show so if that helps you decide on what questions to ask then all the better.

@obscurefan: I'm guessing the next "official" episode is next week, right?

Post by obscurefan (450 posts) See mini bio

@rem25: Yep, don't have a time locked down yet, but Stacey and MrMazz are the two big ones we get since its all about TV and they watch everything that comes on, but I'll let you guys know when we get the time locked down.

Okay, next episode is going to be this Wednesday afternoon and our guest will include Stacey and Mr Mazz, talking about TV this season now that most shows are at their halfway point. Ask your questions now people, it'll be awesome!

Seeing as we're going to be more "official" from here on out (whilst retaining our trademark laid back attitude that is definitely not actually trademarked), I thought this would be a good time to bump this thread to see if anyone had any questions. We're recording another show later today, so post away! The "theme" is Cult Movies, but feel free to ask any questions, we'll answer.

QUESTIONS GO!

Let's start with definitions.

How exactly are you defining 'cult movies', and be specific enough so that we can pretty definitively take just about any film and know whether it does or does not qualify as a 'cult movie'.

Post by Toastburner_B (132 posts) See mini bio

The question I had is very similar to etragedy's:

When does a cult movie cease to be a "cult" movie? For example, some people consider movies such as Army of Darkness and The Princess Bride to be considered cult movies or to have a cult following, despite the fact that they have been widely seen and are popular in the mainstream? In your opinions, does a film cease to be a "cult classic" if it is popular in the mainstream, or is any movie with a devoted following considered a cult classic?
