I actually love Ratatouille. I was afraid it wouldn't go over so well, but I probably should have included it anyways :)

And, I missed How to Train Your Dragon which is why it isn't on the list, but looks like I have some homework to do this weekend, which makes me excited.

Perhaps the education should be that not Akira, nor Ghost in The Shell should be in a genre of their own, but going toe to toe with this very films (should they be below or above them in aesthetic value?), how about the political depth and coming of age of Persepolis, is Kirikou and the Sorceress devoid of non-condescending value? I think most of the films you listed and many others that... I do not wanna say you neglected, but given that you think they belong to another "genre" besides animation... I'm gonna say you... haven't seen, so, the ones you listed alongside some you did not list, do represent the sublimation of the human ideal that something that appeals to all ages sometimes can afford to be a good recollection of arts and values. Good list.

Toy Story is the best animated film.
