Ordinarily a writer being hired to do rewrites is not newsworthy but since World War Z will have 7-9 weeks on re-shoots one has to wonder what is so wrong with the film that it needs to be rewritten before reshoots and have over a month of reshoots. Rewrites generally occur during the production of a film and reshoots generally don't last beyond beyond two weeks but this film has already completed production (or at least it had until the massive amount of re-shoots were announced). Presumably to accommodate the time needed to complete reshoots and complete post-production the release date was changed from sometime during December of this year to June 21, 2013. So what does everyone else think about the bizarre situation that this film in? Is this a sign that the film so far is terrible or does it mean something else? Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Weird. Seems more and more like this movie won't be very good.

Definetly not a good sign for any movie but I'll still remain cautiously optimistic that this film will turn out good. I just really want to see some of the stories but on the screen especially the sewer soldiers one

I've actually heard great things about the original JMS script.

And Damon Lindelof hasn't ever written things I've enjoyed.

So this bodes unwell.

Doesn't bode well for the film. Will suck if the film is bad too as it will just give people even more reason to insult and abuse Damon Lindelof.

Many movies complete all of shooting in 7-9 weeks. For reshoots!?!?!? This is gonna be one terrible movie.
