I guess someone ponied up enough cash for Matthew Broderick to sell out a beloved childhood memory of everyone's for the sake of some shitty Super Bowl ad. Awesome.

It's not as if they didn't already make a TV show. /shrug

He doesn't really need to be there, but he just decided his life is over, so he committed himself to a nursing home. And Ferris comes and breaks him out. And they go to, like, a titty bar and all this ridiculous stuff happens. And then, at the end of the movie, Cameron dies."

I'm a bit confused. Why all the hate exactly? Are you guys afraid they'll make a shitty sequel or something?

If John Hughes was still alive and was in charge of some sort of weird old Ferris and Cameron movie, them MAYBE I'd be interested. But since he isnt, then NO!

It's not a sequel, it's a Super Bowl ad. Resurrecting the character for an advertisement seems kind of crass, especially since Broderick has said for years he'd likely never play Bueller again.

I never liked the guy, or the film. Yet I still find this awful.

Sorry guys, but Godzilla was the best Matthew Broderick movie. Your childhood memories all suck.

(Granted it was a mountain of cash anyone of us would have taken) Speculation as to what the product or service might be? I say either a hip and awesome Doritos commercial or something for Erectile dysfunction.

Because I hate everyone have this clip from the Ferris Bueller TV show. It's far more offensive than ANY superbowl spot. It also has a young, nobody Jennifer Aniston.

I don't know either since many people around the Whiskey Media forums liked the Michael J. Fox Back to the Future commercial he made promoting a 2010 SpikeTV awards show. I don't think this ad is any better or worse than that one. Why shouldn't these actors capitalize on the roles that made them famous? It's better than having it done after they're dead.
