So the rules are the same as last week's giveaway. I've thought about it and I only have a finite number of DVDs to give away and if you'd like to donate a DVD to the giveaway just PM me with the title of the film you'd like to donate and we'll get it going from there.

How to play: So this last week I introduced my parents to Firefly because they were in a TV lull due to the season finale of Downton Abbey and to my surprise, they enjoyed it more than I thought they would. What are some of your experiences with introducing others with TV shows and movies that you loved, good or bad experiences.

This week's winner will receive a movie poster.

I always try to get my parents to watch stuff. I tried to get them to watch Breaking Bad, Fargo, No Country For Old Men, A Beautiful Mind, Arrested Development. Countless stuff. They don't like to watch new things, they prefer to be able to watch something they've watched before so they can get up and do something without getting lost. All they do is watch MASH, Friends and Seinfeld reruns and when a movie comes on TV that they've seen before they watch it. They never do get up and do something either. My Dad is a little better, he sometimes checks out Netflix but nothing substantial. They want nothing to do with my recommendations. It hurts me.

My parents are aware of my love for B movies though so maybe that's why my word has little sway with them. When I lived with them, Mom would always eye my DVD collection that has such classics as Patrick, Piranha and Zoltan, Hound of Dracula and tell me to throw them away. They were disgusting apparently. Like fuck they are. I think I tried to get them to watch Frightmare with me one time. Didn't go so well.

I was introduced to Firefly and absolutely loved it. I had watched it many times and after I was dating my wife a year or so I tried to get her to watch it. We saw two episodes of Firefly and she hated it. I then showed her Serenity which she also couldn't stand. I had a similar experience with her with The Wire though at least we made it through the entire first season of that. One of my biggest accomplishments with her was getting her to watch the original Star Wars trilogy after dating 6 years. The best thing was she like it, so that was a win in my book.

I introduced someone who didn't like Archer once and they didn't like it very much. Haven't talked them since. I'm only a little kidding.

EDIT: Also, I won last time?! Sweet! Should I take myself out of the running this time or something?

@walkingcarpet: yes, you won last week's contest. It was supposed to be announced in last week's Community Showcase, but that never went up. You can PM me your mailing address and I'll get that DVD in the mail as soon as physically possible. Also, I'll probably not count your entry this week if there is less than 6 or 7 entries total just to make it fair, but if there is a better turn out I'll throw your name in the metaphorical hat.There's nothing stopping you from entering every week; I encourage it.
