As the title states, what do you guys think of him? The only filmmaker I can think of that comes close to Korines work is Giuseppe Andrews

I haven't seen any of his work, although I really wanna see Kids, I hear it's a good film although my only intention is to see the amazing Chloe Sevigny, she really liked him and his style (enough to date him) so I'm sure there's some good artistry in his work? here's hoping.

If it makes you feel better, Andrews was in Mission Impossible.

I've watched all his films. I'm interested in Spring Breakers.

Because why not?
Because why not?

I absolutely love Gummo, but that's about it. Kids is pretty great (young Rosario Dawson!) as an examination of the 90s, but he only wrote that, still definitely worth seeing even with the NC-17 slapped on it. You won't find me defending his other films, though.

Since you've brought him up, here's a hilarious review on Trash Humpers by Brows Held High.

I think he's like a cut-rate Gus Van Sant. Van Sant has the same kind of focus on off-kilter societal outcasts, but his work (aside from Restless) has almost always had a sympathy for the people that he's focusing on. I haven't seen a lot of Korine, but there often seems to be a kind of mocking or hateful tone in his work that I find it difficult to deal with. I should probably watch more of it before I form a critical opinion of him, though.

Gummo is an incredibly bold and brave film. Is it a good movie, that part is debatable

He is a troll who makes shitty art to turn the film world on it's head in a punk rock auteur fashion.
