How many movies have you seen in theaters this year?

I suspect I'm in the minority on here that very rarely goes out to watch movies. I've seen one movie in a theater this year: The Secret World of Arrietty. I think the last movie before that was Immortals. Both of those were kind of last minute invites from friends so I didn't really plan to go see either one of them. I'm not sure when I changed cause I loved going to movies as a kid but now I just feel like an old man that would rather stay at home.

Edit: I've been trying to think what movie I seen before Immortals and I can't remember. Immortals might have been the first time I've been to a theater in years.

Maybe 2 or 3 so far. Going at night, when most people want to, costs $10 and that's with a student discount. Just a bit too much for constant visits.

7 I think: A Cat in Paris, We Bought a Zoo, Hugo, John Carter, The Avengers, The Grey, Mission: Impossible. I'm probably forgetting one or two.

wow, i didn't realize I've been to five this year (I had to check my list) way more that I thought. I'd like to see more though. I'm thinking about buying the value pack from my local cinema chain, pack of 50 tickets for $300 USD.

So far, only two: Act of Valor and The Avengers.

I hadn't gone for a year or so, but I got hooked up with free movie tickets and I think I'm around 5 already. With more to come!

I saw about a dozen when I was doing my annual Oscar run down, but if you mean what movies did I see that were actually released in this year, let's see...

Pirates Band of Misfits, Cabin in the Woods, Avengers, The Raid, and two others that I'm forgetting.

ooh, one-upped immediately! I actually usually never go to the theaters this much, but seeing as I've got access to a lot of free screenings now, this year will be a first for me.

The Avengers. Oh and John Carter before that... Both i really liked.

I don't see many films in the theatre.. I usually have to go alone, and i try and avoid that.

I've seen 13 because A. I can't quite afford to go to the movies as often as other people might be able to, especially considering that I'm unemployed & the ticket prices here are pretty outrageous and B. because there hasn't been a ton of films worth venturing out to theaters to see. Usually I find something in January to see, but didn't bother to see a film until Chronicle in mid-February.

With that said, half of those films are usually due to circumstance (Avengers sold out, saw Think Like A Man instead), discount (got those half-price tickets for Man on a Ledge) or just because I have nothing else to do with my parents/friends.

Only two in a commercial theater; I saw Underworld - Awakening at its midnight premiere because a friend wanted to see it, and I saw The Hunger Games its opening weekend.

However, I also watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Attack The Block, and Indie Game - The Movie in my university's film club theater. Needless to say, those three films are far better than the other two.
