Johansson not be in Iron Man 3

Due to time constraints and previous planned films it seems that Scarlett Johansson will not be in Iron Man 3. She did hint that a Black Widow film wouldn't be out of the question but for now it seems she is hanging up the tight leather. Link.

Personally I don't care. Sure she is pretty to look at but I'd rather have characters that made sense within a storyline than tits and ass being shoved in my face. And a Black Widow film isn't something I'd be to keen on either. Johansson said in an interview she would like a Bourne-type of film for BW.

Will the absence of some T&A be something you miss in Iron Man 3?

I'm with you on this, I found her character to be extremely dumb and corny in Iron Man 2 and her presence felt really forced. Still really looking forward to Iron Man 3 though.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

(yeah, I usually try to form coherent and thoughtful statements here on Screened, but sometimes you just can't make a better point than like a hundred capitalized A's can)

Already, the future of Iron Man 3 looks alot brighter than Iron Man 2. Looking forward to this one.

@gangly: I agree with you on this one :)

Black Widow made sense as a character in Iron Man 2 because it perfectly fit the storyline. But Johanssen is not very good in the role and I would prefer that the Avengers franchise films have a hero who isn't such a uninspired character. What describes Black Widow other than "sexy," "manipulative," "Russian," and "skilled at combat"? We should have more Maria Hill or they could introduce someone like Hellcat or Senator Bethany Cabe.

On the downside, even though Pepper in the comics is really interesting, she has come off as kind of annoying in the movies. The good thing about Widow is she was never the damsel in the distress. Potts has managed to get herself nearly-killed in both pictures, once by walking right next to a terrorist's robot just because it seemed deactivated.

This breaks the redhead quota then. Iron Man = 1 Redhead, Iron Man 2 = 2 Redheads, Iron Man 3 = 2 Redheads?

Does this mean Emma Stone can replace her?

@TheHumanDove: See now when it isn't Emma Stone, I'll be horribly disappointed all thanks to you. HOW DO YOU FEEL NOW?!

Scarlett is a beautiful woman, I'm not exactly sold on her acting, She's descent don't get me wrong, but she lacks depth. :/

she was the wrong choice for Black Widow.

In a perfect world Emily Blunt would've been able to take the role after all.

Cherry, that's PERFECT casting! Damn it!! Now I hate Iron Man 2 even more just picturing what the fantastic Ms. Blunt could've done in that role. ;)

She didn't belong in the second film anyway.

Emily was originally supposed to play BW! but had scheduling conflicts :( then they got ScarJo. Huge mistake. I think if Emily did end up getting the role, it would've had a lot more depth than just the sexualised character she turned out to be.

@CherryBomb: Oh man would that have been much better. She's certainly a better actor and I wouldn't feel as awkward watching the movie either.

@FinalDasa: haha! awwh :( I know, I'm just picturing how amazing it would've been and .. I can't, because it would be too amazing to imagine. :( the world is so unfair.

I just got back from seeing The Avengers and she was good in it. She's not necessary for Iron Man 3, but I certainly hope she's in The Avengers 2.

By the way, the movie really is as good as people have been saying it is.

Jessica Chastain is a marked upgrade in the acting category, so I can't complain.

Duh, She achieved her role in 2, and now has no need to babysit Stark. There's one thing that'll make or break Iron Man 3:

(Avengers Spoilers)

Hulk, or at least Banner has to be in Iron Man 3. They hit it off instantly, and are great scientist buddies, and leave in the same car. Ruffalo was the perfect Banner! And his chemistry with stark was superb, so yeah, make or break.

I personally didn't mind her character in 2 and you know they'll get some other way for T&A in the film so I'm a little disappointed not having her

She really is an awful actress. And I was never as turned on as some were with her Black Widow getup.
