Anyone who wants to check out the full in depth feature, feel free to click the following link. However, if you'd rather not give more page views to an unknown website, I've also added a brief run-down of the service for anyone interested below: http://oxfordstudent.com/2012/01/26/netflix-vs-lovefilm/
The short version
TV content - Netflix wins. Has a broad range of UK and US series and, while not very up to date (don't expect anything released within the past year or so), it still has a broad enough range to be very appealing.
Film content - LoveFilm wins. Has a far greater variety of content although, for what it's worth, the selection on Netflix seems to cater more to my own tastes. Little overlap between the two services though.
Quality - Netflix wins (by far - full HD on PS3, 720p on PC compared to lovefilm's barely-there 480p suport)
UI - Tie
Subtitle support - Netflix wins. Every film has the option to add subtitles and so does every TV show. LoveFilm only has embedded subtitles for non-English language films.
Device support (iOS, Android, Consoles etc.) - Netflix wins. You can stream almost anywhere and on almost anything. LoveFilm's mobile apps in comparison only let you curate your selection of films.
Price - LoveFilm wins. Less than £4.99 a month compared to Netflix's £5.99.
Overall = Netflix wins I have more faith in them to get new licensing agreements and content deals than I do in lovefilm's ability to completely rewrite their streaming tech.
