Say something positive about a movie you can't stand

You know the saying, "If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all".  Well apply that to movies you think are absolute garbage.  Movies that make your blood boil.  Movies that can make you go on a 30 minute diatribe on why they are shit.  Movies that will make you think less of a person if they say they like them.  You get the point.

The Boondock Saints:  I thought Willem Dafoe gave a good performance and the film's production spawned one of my all time favorite documentaries, Overnight.

On the Line:  That scene where Lance Bass' most annoying friend gets hit in the testicles with a baseball is pretty funny.

Shakespeare in Love:  You get to see Gwyneth Paltrow's boobies.

Scary Movie 2
:  David Cross and Chris Elliot were in it.  I like them.

Jason goes to Hell: The Final Friday:  I thought the opening scenes and the last scene were actually pretty good.

  • Prometheus looked nice, Idris Elba was great.
  • Aliens had one good character in Bishop, even though he was criminally underused. But he was a great character.
  • Back To The Future has Christopher Lloyd doing a performance that doesn't make me want to die immediately, as opposed to the others.
  • The Incredible Hulk allowed Tim Roth a paycheck
  • Thor handled Loki well
  • Avatar didn't commit genocide.
  • Kick-Ass didn't... I... the beginning? I... I can't do it. There are things I enjoyed in the cinema, and I didn't start to hate it with every fibre of my being until half way through, but god damn I can't say anything nice about this film. My body won't let me.

@Tylea002: Wait you hated Aliens and Back to the Future?  To each their own, different strokes for different folks make the world go around and all that jazz.   The only thing I hate about Back to The Future was I dated a girl who worked at a bar that had an open mic night and I swear every other "comedian" would make a reference to that film.    Sorry to judge your film dislikes.

Jersey Girl: George Carlin got a few laughs from me.

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland:  I thought the parts before Alice returns to Wonderland would of made for an entertaining movie about a girl rebelling against polite Victorian society and gender roles.

The Hills Have Eyes 2 (remake): I thought the make-up for the Hill People was impressively creepy.

@Ghost_of_GhostDad: Heh, well, it's more films I can't stand. Bad movies that everyone hates, no one's gonna be able to "not stand" it. Because everyone hates them, they're just bad films. For me, it's when a film is truly seen as a revered classic. or at least gets a positive response (Thor/Kick-ass), but I really dislike it and don't understand the love, that's when a movie becomes "can't stand" quality. So that's why the films on here aren't all seen as generally bad, and are actually quite loved.

Also, I didn't mind Jersey Girl. Wasn't amazing, wasn't the turd I'd been promised. George Carlin was definitely the best in it.

The Last Airbender - I can't think of anything to say.

Get ready for the two most controversial entries on this list.

Winter's Bone: Very well acted.

Tree of Life: That cinematographer was working his ass off.

The Lovely Bones: The ending (involving SPOILER! The killer being killed by a random ice pick that results in him falling off a nearby cliff for no f*cking reason) was hysterical. I mean, it wasn't supposed to be hysterical, but it was.

The Invention of Lying - The scene with Stephen Merchant and Barry off Eastenders were genuinely hilarious.

Robin Hood (2010) - Mark Strong!

Batman and Robin: A throw away line characterizes Batman the best in any film up to that point.

Rock of Ages: Tom Cruise singing "I want to know what love is" into Malin Ackermans ass was funny. Tom Cruise in general was great. t

The Artist got more people talking and thinking about silent film than the last ten years of movies combined.

Crash taught a bunch of idiots some basic ideas about racism (like not-white people are people too)

Crash reminded me of the identically named weird but infinitely more entertaining film about people who have a sexual fetish about auto accidents that was directed by David Croenenberg.

Scarface - There were a handful of really awesome scenes.  The rest was boring and way too long.

Shutter Island - I felt really smart figuring out the twist in the first 10 minutes.

Independence Day -  I really liked the special effects and the parts with Will Smith

The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons - I thought the make-up and special effects they used on Brad Pitt were incredible.  Maybe they should of used those guys for Prometheus.

Now the movie that pisses off my inner Comic Book Geekdom to no end.
Judge Dredd - No matter how terrible Dredd turns out it will never be as bad as the Sylvester Stallone version.  I also thought Armand Assante plays a really good villain too bad it was for this piece of shit.

TRANSFORMERS 3 looked really cool, even if its story and jokes were terrible.

Transformers 3 - I am glad I moved out of Chicago before they started filming.  It was a bitch trying to get to work when The Dark Knight was filming.
