So I am just going to ask the question; what is up with screened? With all the news about the other Whiskey sites, Screened has been very quiet. There hasn't been any podcast recently (I miss those). I was expecting Alex to have one last episode of podcast awsomeness with Matt, before he left. That didn't happen. So has anything even been mentioned? Any "News coming soon"....anything!?

@FriendlyMarshmellow: For now it seems as if things are going ahead as normal. Rorie may fill us in with more detail when he can (is legally allowed to), but he's still doing his awesome thing. Alex has become a writer for Giant Bomb exclusively, so no podcasts for now, but there may be some new things in a while.

@gangly: Yeah, I completely forgot about the fact that legality comes into this. No one can say anything, until they are allowed. I understand that.

Well, one thing we can do is just keep the forums active and keep pumping out as much of our own content (blogs, reviews, random features, etc.) as possible. I think if BermanBraun sees that our community is already flourishing, they'll be less likely to change too much stuff when that time inevitably comes.

It's a great site; and it still has Rorie's articles, which are pretty uniformly hilarious, so I'll still be sticking around. Just a matter of time til whatever plan the new owners have goes ahead. So long as it involves the people that are still with screened, even if that's a lone Rorie, It'll remain awesome.

Just a bit quiet for a while.

It's sucks not knowing the future of Screened but it's still a great website with an amazing community so I'm sticking with it. :)

That's really good advice!

I think they said the 16th of April was when the separation would finalize (not sure about that at all), perhaps that is the date they are waiting for before announcing changes or non-changes.

Legality aside, it's odd that we haven't heard anything at all about Screened's fate except that Alex is leaving, and it was bought by the same company that bought Tested (I think). I'm really curious what the eventual redesign is going to look like, too, since the Whiskey tab is still at the bottom.

Yeah, it's been weird hearing that the information keeps on being pushed back further and further into the future until we just stop hearing anything at all. All we can do for now is to continue to miss the weekly podcast and enjoy the genuinely still great articles.

Well, since Joey apparently left for Tested, I imagine BermanBraun is working on hiring new staff. Considering that most of the engineers came over to BB, I imagine they will continue to work on Screened; however, they're probably extremely busy working on getting Tested back to full functionality.

Rorie is the only one keeping Screened from derailing and imploding into oblivion. He's doing a pretty ok job

Thanks for the concern guys. All I can really say at the moment is that I'm getting paid to write, which is my goal in life! Plus I get to work from home every day, which is a mixture of awesome and incredible, even if it is tempting to just set stories to auto-publish in the morning and sleep until noon and play SW: The Old Republic while looking for news. Not that I do any of that.

There's a lot of talk going on behind the scenes, but, alas, there isn't much I can really say at this point. Hopefully there'll be news soon. I will be posting it here when I can talk about it!
