So the Avengers have finally arrived, breaking records like nobody thought possible. But before the movie came out I opened up a blog asking folks to submit questions about the film for a new segment I was trying to start up here on Screened. Like the rest of you I miss those video segments and the podcast, and luckily guys like gangly are trying to get the videos back up. But I'm going to do my part to and try to create some kind of an audio feature here on the site, but of course Screened has no way for you to upload audio to the site, so for now its coming to you as a youtube video. But if you like it let me know and I'll keep it going, if you don't like it then I'll work on other stuff. But for now, enjoy this new segment (and yes, I know the audio is a little off, my mic is usually pretty good but something caused this echoing sound and I'm getting it looked at).

That was a great audio. Definitely looking forward to seeing more if you do decide to make more. If you could, getting a second person to commentate would be great. Its kind of a personal preference of mine. I find that two people amplifies the audio because they can debate or make a witty joke between themselves.

It was pretty interesting and I enjoyed listening to it. I feel I know quite a bit about these characters but you shed some light on things I didn't know as much about them. I look forward to hearing more in the future.

This is pretty neat, though I agree about finding extra people. Maybe a community podcast with people skyping in?

@litrock: I think that's a great idea. The problem is quality. If a small group wish to do it and make it sound decent enough they would individually have to record themselves while skyping which makes the audio editing a pain. But for the beginning a simple skype podcast can certainly do the trick.

@Acura_Max: @litrock: Yeah I agree that having multiple people on would be great. I didn't have anyone for this episode simply because nobody else I know knew that much about the Avengers, but for future episodes which would be only about movies, I would love to get more people on. And as for Skyping folks in, I think that would be an amazing way to get the community involved in this and show that it is all about the Screened Pups, problem is I don't know how to record Skype using a PC. If anyone out there knows then inform me as to how and I will totally get that started.

@FinalDasa: @obscurefan: Hah yeah, I'd considered suggesting doing something like this many times before, but I'm totally ignorant about how to edit audio or record skype calls on PC myself, hence why it never went beyond 'hey, cool idea'

@obscurefan: You can run Skype for the conference call and there is a free recording and editing program called Audacity. Everyone would Skype in and talk while also recording themselves, each audio file would have to be sent to one person and everything edited in so everyone sounds like they are in a room and not being recorded through someone else's PC speakers through skype.

@FinalDasa: How now, multiple recordings that I edit together, that's not a bad idea. I used to edit film together so editing audio shouldn't be too different. My only question is that I use Audacity currently for my sound recording, but like a third of the time it craps out on me and says "all that stuff you just recorded didn't actually get recorded" and it also doesn't let me record past 28 minutes before it cuts off. Do you know if that's just how it is or is there something that can be done to fix that because I worry it would make recording with multiple people kind of wonky and unreliable.

Bark Screened Pups Bark! Great idea and brilliant execution, reminded me of the good old Lonely Rorie podcasts in the best way possible.

We could also make podcasts where we go through a film important scene by important scene and give funny commentary on it. Here is a good example:

this was fantastic, great work

That was informative, thanks. Guess if I had seen more than one of the movies I would have had an answer to my question.

and for the record, my username is pronounced as the letter a followed by shogo, which sounds like show+go.

As someone who knows next to nothing about comic books (and their movies), this was really great. Thanks for posting!

You have a great podcast voice and this was really informative. I hope that didn't come out as creepy as it seems reading back over it :)

Are there spoilers in this? I've been avoiding a listen since I haven't seen Avengers yet.

@FinalDasa: i listened to it and it sounds like it was made before the Avengers came out. So it's spoiler free.

@TheFaithfullyDeparted: Haha, no no, I actually get that a lot. I used to work in a movie theater and people honestly thought I was the movie phone guy.

Oh no, I recorded this the day before I saw the movie so there's no spoilers at all. This is simply more of information on the Avengers themselves to prepare folks for the movie.

I only just had a chance to listen to this today - I really liked it! Sound quality was very good, you have a great voice for this kind of thing and you seem really knowledgeable. I hope you do more of these!
