Halle, wait you don't have to face the Oscar curse. Oh, but you did didn't you.
Halle, wait you don't have to face the Oscar curse. Oh, but you did didn't you.

So this movie happened and for the most part, people have forgotten about it. If you bring it up with people they will either shrug or if they're a Bond fan give a huge sigh. Most people will agree that this is one of, if not, the worst Bond movie. Whether or not it is the worst is beside the point. For this blog I will start with the lesser Bond flicks, and since this oneis in the trash heap I've decided to dig it up and share my thoughts on it.

So for starters this is at the end of the Brosnan era. An era filled with esteem and prestige. An era of wonder and imagination. One with the utmost... okay I'm completely kidding. When I was younger I didn't mind the Pierce Brosnan years and for the most part I still don't. But I am not above calling them what they are (insert favorite destructive and controversially adjective here). So when 2002 rolled around I was expecting that he was going to dish out a similiar film to his previous entries. When I finally saw the film I realized that this was a different Bond movie, on the surface. Then I realized it was full of all the extreme plot points and so on that plagued the last few Bond flicks.

I mean it wasn't quite as wacky as Moonraker (don't get me started on that space trash). But come on, within the first five minutes you have Bond surfing. What in the hell is up with that ("Charlie Don't SURF" and neither does Bond). Also to top that off he's surfing in North Korea. It doesn't get much crazier than that... oh wait I almost forgot about the whole skin surgery plot point and the fact that the villian has the film equivalent of the Hammer of Dawn. In between that you have got everything from Michael Madsen (don't ask) and "London Calling."

Now it is time for my rating system. Each category has a different score and is subject to change. For now I will try this out, but I might throw in some new categories that may pertain to the movie. So, without further ado.....

Bond Acting Score------------ mediocre

Bond Girl Acting Score-------not really good at all

Plot------------ I don't even know

Theme Song---- its Madonna, so there's not much else I can say about that

WTF moment-----tie----- Bond surfing, hammer of dawn, michael madsen in a Bond Film?

Overall Film------- not good, avoid unless diehard Bond film

P.S: Do you guys want me to post this on General Discussion or James Bond forum.

I'd definitely post these in the forum for whatever specific flick they're about. That way, when someone's looking at the, in this case "Die Another Day", page they'll see your blog right there. If you post these in the General forum, they'll just get lost in a week and never seen again.

My God, this movie was horrible. The white guy turned out to be the North Korean kid from the beginning? Really, movie? REALLY?!

This movie had a great set up, but all was ruined when it got to the Cuban clinic. I guess you could see the second half as an homage to the crazier, dumber flicks a la Moonraker and Diamonds are Forever, but even then...just...god what a waste.

Definitely one of the worst. I always felt Brosnan was a good Bond but was let down by inferior scripts (save Goldeneye)
