So it seems im going to be on a extend winter break. This has giving me sometime to watch TV and play SWTOR. There are a lot of marathons of showx on TV these days. So what shows can you easily marathon?

I have three:NCIS,Leverage and the Last Airbender. The first two because of the procedural nature and wacky cast of characters and Airbender because I literally enjoy every episode except for two in that entire series.

Probably The West Wing, its one of my favorite shows and having every DVD helps.

I think I can marathon comedies easier than anything else; stuff like Friends, Community and so on. Most of my TV-watching is done in quick succession now anyway. Take this summer, for instance, where I got through Breaking Bad, Community, Parks & Rec and It's Always Sunny within a few months. Two to three episodes a day isn't really a marathon, but I would watch whole seasons in a week or less most of the time so it was fairly quick.

I'd never make it through the full episode list, but thanks to lots of practice with New Year's Day marathons, I think I'd go with the Twilight Zone.

I agree with Avatar The Last Airbender. Sons of Anarchy, How I Met Your Mother, and South Park

Sadly most of the shows I love to watch marathon style are ones that didn't have extremely long runs. Titus(ran for 3 seasons on Fox), The Adventures of Brisco County JR., F Troop(look it up kids). The only shows with full runs; The Drew Carey Show(Thank you internet), and DS9

This and "marathoning" is my preferred way of watching TV shows. I'm impatient these days and I don't want to have to wait a week to see what happens next for just about every show (sports obviously excluded).

Fringe (like any other serialized show) is at its best when marathoned. Commercial breaks ruin the experience.

I just marathon deep space nine but i won't be doing that again. However I'm on my fourth marathon of Buffy and Community I can watch at the drop of a hat.

Currently doing a marathon of Stargate SG-1. I've never seen the show before and I so far I'm really liking it. A lot more than most other sci-fi shows especially the Star Trek ones (more specifically DS9).

@PenguinDust: Yea, me too. I just wait till the season is over, or maybe for the mid season break and when I have a few days off work I just watch them all.

Exactly, although by "marathoning" I don't mean sitting down and watching a whole season in one single sitting. I mean watching one show every night until I'm done with the series or, at least, caught up. On average that means about 12 to 16 half-hour episodes or 6 to 8 hour long shows in a sitting. I remember marathoning movie franchises being discussed on Screened and I think Giant Bomb, and I found that some are possible but others just wear me out. I can still do Star Wars (original), but I'd be pushed to the limit these days making it through Lord of the Rings (Extended). I failed the Harry Potter challenge even before Deathly Hallows was out. I think I lack focus which is weird because I can do a dozen half-hour shows without much effort. It must be the breaks between each show that provides the cushion to my attention span. On DVD or online most shows don't run over 45 minutes so it's not a big deal. On the other hand, a movie can run 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours these days so back-to-back-to-back is exhausting.

Hah, I've been doing the same thing while playing the old republic, though I've been watching the Wire. Mcnulty's poon-houndery is pretty inspiring.

The only television marathon I've ever had was South Park when I was in high school. In my home (I live with my parents) it seems there are regular Psych marathons. It seems to be the family show. I can watch and enjoy a few episodes, but I can't do it all day with everyone else.

Archer is really easy to marathon because there aren't many bad episodes and each episode is really only 20-ish mins long. Eureka is a great show as well but I find procedural shows really hard to marathon even if they are well written.
