So I just finished watching Adventureland and really enjoyed it, Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart were great. I never heard anyone talk about this movie and by the box office numbers I don't think many people saw it.
Am I crazy for thinking this movie is really under appreciated? Did anyone else saw this because even on google I barely found anything about this movie.

@Mr_skeleton: Nope, you're not crazy - it's a good film! Both the leads were great, but Kristen Stewart really surprised me. Rightly or wrongly, she gets a lot of flack for Twilight, but this film showed she's actually a solid actress.

This is another film that's on my DVD rental list after hearing good things about, but like you say it didn't seem to get a whole lot of attention. Or maybe I just missed it. Either way, I'll be able to let you know what I thought of the film soon.

Actually, just going back to its poor performance - I think that can be put down to the bad marketing choices. What initially put me off was the big 'from the creators of Superbad!' on the poster, which is kinda misleading as they're nothing alike. I'm sure that played a part in people missing it.

Loooved this movie, great stuff all around. @skidd: an even worse marketing choice made recently by a Happy Madison production was using the line "FROM THE PRODUCERS OF GROWN UPS". Makes sense that some liked it for some reason, but for the sane people, it's an immediate translation to "DON'T FUCKIN WATCH THIS MOVIE!"

Adventureland is really good.

Yeah, I only know a handful of people who have seen this movie.
But I thought it was great, and aside from Panic Room the only good thing Kristen Stewart has done.

I sat my new girlfriend down to watch this a couple weeks ago. Made for a great date night.

I also really enjoyed it. Ryan Reynolds was pretty great in it.

Disliked this movie quite a bit upon my first watching mainly because it was sold over here (here being Australia) as some sort of wacky screwball comedy set in an 80's theme park and directed by the guy who brought you Superbad, and then it turned out to be kinda whiny and serious. I've come around to it a lot more with repeated viewings but I still don't feel it's really a good film.

@skidd:  it was good, but it just reminded me that Ryan Reynolds is usually that douche who goes for the younger chicks.  However, if you want to see a great Ryan Reynolds performance...see "Buried".

It's a better coming of age drama than it is a comedy. Everybody expected a comedy, so they therefore forgot about it when  it wasn't what they expected.

I liked it, but by no means loved it. 3/5 Stars.

it was simplistic but the messages and character development is very deep, I enjoyed it  (: I don't think Kristen Stewart is the best actress, but I thought she was believable in this movie. Loved the storylines (:
