I dont know how much of a hidden gem this is since Christopher Nolan is super known now. But this is his directing debut. Its basically about an inspiring writer who follows random people to gain inspiration but of course he gets in over his head. It has the signature Nolan Twist and he made it for reportedly 6 grand. Thats pretty small compared to to The Dark Knight costing around 185 million dollars.

@GreatestEver99:  I'm assuming you enjoyed it. You state that you aren't sure if it's a hidden gem but you never explicitly say it's a film you're fond of. Regardless, it certainly sounds interesting. I've seen it floating around my Netflix Instant suggestions. Definitely going to give it a shot.

It's good, even if the non-linear storytelling makes no sense with the film's framing device.

Following didn't really do anything for me. I get that this is a super low-budget project, but I just found his more recent work much more enjoyable.

Because of the small budget and production values I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty low key, but overall interesting enough.

It's pretty much an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents told in a non-linear fashion. A good old fashioned twist-on-a-twist. Also, I found it clever how they showed a switch to a different time, saying how they had the low budget and all.

I don't think I'd call it a "hidden" gem, but Following was pretty good.

More like an overlooked gem.  It's in plain sight people just look past it for his other bigger films.

Sorry to be that guy, but you meant aspiring.

Anyway, I started watching this but found it pretty hard to get through. It's a little bit mumble-y for my liking.

Maybe but if you ask most people about Christopher Nolan they probably don't know about this. I'm probably underestimating people. If you like him I guess you would go look for his stuff. I only knew about his bigger films until I just stumbled upon this.
