I really liked this movie, I thought that the story and concept was pretty interesting, in the future after World War III emotions are outlawed because they are believed to be the root of all evil. Christian Bale plays the role of a Cleric who enforces the ban on emotions like a cop but eventually begins to turn on everything he used to believe in

I think it's one of Bale's best performances

I don't think alot of people have seen this movie (or I could be totally wrong) but I thought I should mention it

Great movie with one of the highest on screen body counts.  A must see!

Kung Fu + Guns = Gun Fu
This movie rocks and is one of my all time favorites. So much fun.
Christian Bale is awesome, the movie has some sick looking fight scenes, and it's very stylized.

To sum it up in a couple words: it's legit.

It also has one of the best "Sliding Slice" scenes in a movie ever.

gun-fu is apparently actually taught at some places. lol its true. it looks awesome.

i doubt it is effective though.
i'd shoot you before you could say hii-eeeee-yaaaaaaa!

anyways,
Kurt Wimmer was long rumored to direct the live action Metal Gear Solid movie. After i saw this I felt that maybe he could pull it off.

I agree with everyone else, amazing movie.

Equilibrium is an entirely unoriginal movie that tells a really hammy story with real obvious twists.

But the action is so good and the aesthetic is so neat and the performances are good enough that you forgive it for all those things and just enjoy it.

Not every movie needs to tell an original tale. Sometimes the execution is what matters most!

Hahaha, I just watched this again last night

My buddy had this and he brought it over a few years ago and I fell in love with it(this was right before Batman begins came out, we were seeing Bale's body of work)  When we went to the theater to see Begin later that month i bought it while I was there. Good flick

The action is good but the rest of the story kinda just feels like somebody read 1984 & thought "Needz gunz an shit".

I saw the movie some years ago and thought it was pretty good, but I wouldn't say "Amazing". It's good, but it's been done before.

I thought the story was predictable, and the setting was pretty stupid, since it didnt make sense! But it was all made up for with A GUYS FACE GETTING CUT OFF...

Yes. This was a really good film with some damn fine action.

I didn't really care for it  both times I saw it. The action stuff was fine, not particularly mindblowing or anything. It was one of those weird films that tried waaaaay too hard to be The Matrix. (actionwise that is)

I hate this film. Besides the fact it's an obvious Matrix ripoff, the story blandly takes elements from 1984 and doesn't do anything new or interesting with it. Plus, I don't get how standing still makes for a cool or effective fighting style. He's just there, standing still, flailing his arms around and shooting his guns. I'm not sure how that's supposed to be exciting, but hey, I'm not a huge action fan to begin with.

But then he did Ultraviolet...

The movie is a great low budget action flick, never understood why people compare it to the Matrix though.  I guess both take the cliched plot of hero rises to save mankind and add some fun action.

Best slow motion body mutilation ever. I also enjoyed his ability to do a tumbleroll, reload both guns from two clips he slid out in front of him and slaughter like 14 guards in one motion.

Terrible movie

Oh lawd that face slice, so awesome. Also had a cool setting, like a mix of 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.
