Hidden Gems

This French film is a hidden horror gem, given the fact that it was thrown out straight to DVD on Dimension films' "EXTREME" label. It's about a pregnant woman (nearly ready to give birth) and her meeting with a crazed assailant who stalks her in her home for an entire night. I first found out about it via Bloody-Disgusting.com's podcast, and found it to be both disturbing and satisfying. There's an english dub on the DVD which is very good, but also the original French with subtitles, which I've always preferred.

Holy effing shit can the French do horror like nobody else. While Hollywood thinks horror's definition is 'campy, poorly acted gorefest', the French come along and make a string of truly horrific films.
 
This film, along with Martyrs, shook me at my very core. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

I've yet to see this one even though I've had it for over a year. Like @Zaph: I'm also a bit terrified of watching it after having seen both Martyrs and Frontiére(s). The French do indeed make some very intense and disturbing stuff.

great horror film

@Tordah:  Inside isn't as affecting as Martyrs (that film really got to me, the two young female leads are fantastic actors), however the gore factor is way, way up. Honestly dude, if you're in doubt then it's best to avoid it. I'm not saying that as an alarmist, but these films really do fuck with you.
 
If you do end up watching Inside, pay attention to things going on in the background of the scene. Some masterfully created (and terrifying) moments.

@Zaph: Yeah, I think it will be awhile before I find something that will hit me harder than Martyrs did. I've also heard that Inside seems to be more terrifying for females due to the whole pregnancy aspect of it.
 
I'll try to remember to pay attention to the background stuff whenever I find the courage to watch it!

I think I know what you're referring to there, because I totally missed something completely blatant when I first watched it. But the second time I actually saw it and I was just stunned.

Inside and Martyrs totally pulverized me. Vicious horror.
