It's a New Year and 'Cherry's Choice' is back with the years first big event, the 38th Annual People's Choice Awards hosted by the beautiful Kaley Cuoco. This event saw television, music and movie stars of all ages come out to see who won the public-voted awards in a battle of popularity. And some outfits caught my eye .. some for good reasons, some for bad and some were just plain ugly!

Best Dressed

Miley Cyrus in David Koma

Love her or hate her, you cannot deny she looked beautiful at the awards. The dress was so classy, yet sexy and sophisticated at the same time. I loved the sheer covering. without it the dress would look trashy. The hair was beautifully styled and the make-up was minimal to match the neutral dress. I am not in love with the shoes, but who really notices them when she looks like this? - stunning.

#2 Best Dressed

Elisha Cuthbert in Vawk

The 'Happy Endings' star looked beautiful and statuesque in her Vawk gown. She's a very very small and petite woman, but this dress made her look 6 feet tall, the golden bodice just demanded attention and looked beautifully made. It's not the most eye-catching dress, but I loved how it completely changed her body shape and made her look like a Goddess.

Worst Dressed

Jennifer Morrison in Oscar de la Renta

This dress would be nice if it wasn't for those awful tassels hanging off the bottom of it, and from the chest upwards ... it's just a mess. The hair does not match, maybe a Marilyn Monroe hair-cut or something, but not the muffin-top she has, It just looked too matronly, I hate the shoes, the clutch is cute though. She's a beautiful woman but this dress just did nothing for her, apart from age her 30 years.

#2 Worst Dressed

Vanessa Hudgens in Jenny Packham

The sexy actress/singer still looked pretty on the red carpet, but the choice of dress was awful. I know Jenny Packham is one of her favourite designers, but this spiderwebbed frock should be burned. It looks frumpy and does nothing for her body, only make it look wider. A bad choice Vanessa, a bad choice.

Weird and Wonderful Award

This goes to Jennifer Lawrence for her very unique Viktor & Rolf dress.

She made a very bold and daring choice to wear a dress like this, but she certainly made the right one! it's quirky, edgy and looks fierce on her. The hair, make-up, earrings just looked perfect beside the metallic blue outfit. Gotta love the shoes too. Well done to the beautiful, gorgeous J-Law!

Best Dressed Male

Matt Bomer

The sexy 'White Collar' star looked so suave and sophisticated in his simple suit. He buttoned down a little to add sexiness to a classical look. The hair is very Henry Cavill-esque and I adore it. God, those eyes ...

Other Looks ...

Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab was charming and enchanting but she gets my Biggest Disappointment Award simply because she raised the bar so high when she looks smoking at the 2011 Emmy's and this was a huge let-down. It doesn't give her much of a shape, it's an awkward length.

Ginnifer Goodwin looked very classy in this Roksanda Ilinic vibrant fuchsia dress. I like the sleeves strangely, it's a nice change. If the bottom half was tighter and more fitted, like a pencil skirt and it was cropped a few more inches then I would adore it. A nice black skinny belt around the waist would also make it my best dressed nominee.

Ashley Greene in DKNY

Not quite the traditional kind of dresses you would see. But I agree that Miley does look the best.

My favourite is definitely Jennifer Lawrence. Love the shade of blue and it contrasts well with her hair and she looks smoking in that picture. Not too gone on Miley's to be honest. It looks like she has a good bit of make-up on to me(but what do I know?! :P ) I can't really see her as " classy, yet sexy and sophisticated at the same time" but that is due to who she is and what she does more than anything (likewise Scarlett Johansson could literally wear anything and I'd still find her attractive)

Definitely agree with your view on Jennifer Morrison, her skin colour makes her look too pale and unhealthy alongside the white of the dress. While the tassels remind me of the end some curtains or a blanket I have, which is never a good thing!

I agree! 2012 is Officially the year of 'Freaky Fashion' It was hard deciding, because there were none that were definitely the worst or definitely the best, they were all different and good in their own ways. XD

Miley only really has the typical foundation and mascara, maybe a hint of smokey eye! but it is all very minimal :P & tut tut! you can't be bias when it comes to fashion!

& without the tassels it would be a decent-ish dress! :( silly Jennifer. She's so pretty as well. it's a shame.

Hahaha I was thinking "What that dress isn't soooo bad.." then I got to the tassels and was like oh, it looks like my Grandads old sofa. I loved Jennifer Lawrence's dress, it's a pretty daring choice but she looks stunning.

Edit: Also if you have read The Hunger Games it reminds me of something they might wear in the Capital! Don't you think?! If you haven't read it then you really should =)

Wow, you're right - Elisha Cuthbert looks way taller than normal! I like Ashley Greene, but I'm not completely sold by that look...can't figure out why. Speaking of figure, Juliane Hough's looking well!

Also, curse you Matt Bomer...he's making all of us guys look bad and it seems like he barely tries at all. Smooth guy.

The stark change from black dress to golden bodice as well as a change of angle at the same point on Elisha Cuthbert's first image looks like you could have photoshopped it together. She is still really beautiful and I wouldn't have guessed she is 5' 2" and I'm sure it looks even better in movement. I agree with Miley Cyrus too!

Thanks! (: I feel exactly the same, Elisha is a gorgeous looking woman! - she looks phenomenal, and so did Miley! so pretty, she normally dresses very trashy or just plain bad,

Ashley's dress was way too tight! and it was like, leather, it just showed all of her bumps, it wasn't flattering XD

Yes, I completely agree! Jennifer Lawrence's was a very futuristic styled dress, I think it would have been great as a mini-dress, it just looked a little weird because the material is quite stiff, so it just hangs off of her body, if it was shorter then it would definitely be my Best Dressed!

Oh god, those tassels are gonna haunt me! they are awful.

You couldn't be more right. When the girls see this kind of thing there gonna expect a whole lot more from us. I'm gonna have to start buying high thread count suits and start going to a salon instead of my barber. But I have to give credit where credit is due, that Matt Bomer is one handsome dude. Hm, I have a few pictures from this event, I'd have to say that Julianne Hough grabbed the most of my attention. Her calves are amazing.
