I'm sorry I've been absent, but it's now the 2013 award season! Which means dozens of celebrity fashion hit and misses as they fight for a chance to hold the coveted statues. The first big award show? The Golden Globes of course, which is about as close to the Oscars you can get. Here are my choices for those who flew high above the rest and those who fell flat.

Best Dressed

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors

Despite not winning, Blunt arrived in style and perfectly on trend. As you've probably noticed, cut-outs are all the rage and Emily's outfit incorporates this in a classy and lady-like style which she is noted for. The intricate details of the dress is just breath taking. The hair and make up is flawless and she really looked like a winner.

Runner Up

Anne Hathaway in Chanel

Anne looked stunning and fresh faced in this beautiful Chanel dress. Sure it might be a little plain, but she made it her own with custom jewellery and a light pink lip. I wasn't too big on her hair at first, but the short cut is perfect for this style of dress and makes her look enchanting and feminine. Well done Anne!

3rd Place

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture

In just a few short years, Jennifer has blown up as an actress and has really taken the scene by storm, especially the fashion world. The Golden Globes were no different when she turned up in a romantic Dior dress. Perfectly accessorised with gorgeous diamond earrings and a flattering belt, she truly looked like a movie star.

Worst Dressed

Emily Mortimer in Jenny Packham

Oh my god. Is there anything that needs to be said? I'm shocked that Emily arrived in this unflattering metallic dress that really does nothing for her figure. Shall we mention the atrocious hair and make up? First of all, she needs to wear more and secondly, the hair is too messy for my liking, having it slicked back or atleast brushed would've been better. Train wreck.

Runner Up

Sienna Miller in Erdem

Sienna is one of my favourite celebrities, she always has style and grace ... but what went wrong? - The dress is cute, but does nothing for her petite figure, the 3D flowers make it look like a novelty costume and the hair is too severe for a dress like this.

3rd Place

Halle Berry in Versace

Halle is so sexy and I know 2012 has been a tough year for her, BUT, wearing rags to the red carpet? No. The pattern could be nice, if it wasn't a quarter of a dress. The bodice is not nice to look at and the dress looks like it's going to fall apart at any given moment. The hair and make up is nice though!

Best Red Carpet Risks

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen

Nicole showed off her amazing stomach in this gorgeous, artistic dress by Alexander McQueen. The detail put into this is incredible. It's a risky dress to wear and not everyone can pull it off, but Nicole certainly does. Well done!

Kate Hudson also in Alexander McQueen

and again, the detail is gorgeous, it gives her a great shape. She looks stunning.

Screen Siren Award

Salma Hayek in Gucci

Salma has proved time and time again she is a screen sex symbol and the Golden Globes was no different. She arrived in a stunning midnight dress that clung to her curves. With effortless messy hair that blew in the wind, Salma turned heads. Wow.

Cherry's Woman of the Year Award

Jodie Foster

Miss Foster is an incredibly talented actress who has had over 45 years of experience. At the Golden Globs she didn't just look amazing, but she also gave an incredible speech upon receiving her lifetime achievement award. She is such a humble and private woman and to come out publicly in-front of millions of people is a brave thing to do. She really is one in a million and deserves all the praise and support we can give. A truly inspirational, fearless woman.

Ladies in White

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad

This nude illusion dress with white lace looked absolutely breathtaking on J-Lo and showed off her perfect curves. The mermaid hairstyle emphasises her uniquely beautiful face and is just perfection in general.

Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier Couture

The Downton Abbey star looked great in an artistic gown. She looked like royalty. Although I have mixed thoughts on this from time to time, I've finally settled on the idea that she looks great.

Megan Fox in Dolce and Gabbana

The new mother looked smoking hot in this flattering mermaid gown complete with romantic hair and earrings. Say what you will about Megan, but you can't deny she looks great.

Lea Michele in Elie Saab

Michele's red carpet looks have been very sexy in the past year and I'm glad to see this is a more 'subtle' look for the Glee star. The peek-a-bo side bang flatters her gorgeous face. Well done Lea!

Other Looks

Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior Couture

It's hard for Marion not to look amazing and she certainly did at the Globes. This fiery orange dress contrasted beautifully with her skin and the effortless hair gave it a relaxed feel. Maybe it's too casual for the Golden Globes, but she looked beautiful anyway.

Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein

It's all smiles for the amazingly talented Miss Chastain as she was one of the nights winners. I'm not liking the dress much, the fitting is very bad and it does nothing for her figure. I do like the make up and hair, it has a very elegant vintage feel to it which she suits.

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera

The gorgeous Lucy Liu arrived in an Asia inspired dress and looked incredibly youthful while doing so. She wasn't nominated, so she's allowed to have some fun with her style and I think it paid off.

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta

This is a boring choice, I feel like I've seen this entire look on her several times over. Sure, she looks great but I'd like to see her take more risks, she's a beautiful girl and could definitely change up her look now and again.

Taylor Swift in Donna Karan

Now, this is what I'm talking about. Swift ditched her usual 'cutesy' red carpet looks for this vampy gown. She looked devilish in the deep purple and the severe hair and fierce pose only emphasised how great she looked. She needs to look out for some of the creases in the dress, but apart form that, well done!

Alyssa Milano

The former 'Charmed' star looked ravishing in the golden yellow dress. I liked the effortless hair but the dress isn't tailored enough for her body. She's set to star in a steamy ABC drama titled Mistresses , so you'd think she'd dress a little more sexier, no? I'm disappointed.

Taylor Swift is easily my favorite. She looks more like a young movie star than a pop/country singer. Basically she looks like she belongs there.

Also, I missed these! :D

Yay! It's back. I would say that Anne Hathaway is my favorite. I remembered that there were some people who said that they hated her hair because it looked like Justin Bieber's. I also remembered hearing people hate on Justin Bieber for his hair because it looked "emo." Regardless of those comments, I like it alot.

Emily Mortimer, what happened? I'm guessing she woke up one afternoon and remembered that she had an awards ceremony to go to. When you compare it to the picture below, it's like two different persons. Although the picture below might be photoshopped.

Megan Fox and Anne Hathaway may have been the best. I also liked the apparel of Sally Field:

Emily Mortimer, Halle Berry, and J-Lo (bellow) tie for the worst

and why did men stop wearing real ties and only wear bow ties?

EDIT: Forgot to mention Jessica Chastain's hair. It was bizarre.

I've missed these as well, always a great read. I think Anne Hathaway was definitely the best dressed, especially that hair, I love short hair on a woman. Naomi Watts is a close second though, her dress was beautiful.

@pantaloons: Julianne looked gorgeous! (: I love her hair.

@Acura_Max: Yeah, it's a shame about Emily Mortimer! She looks great on The Newsroom, I guess it's time she hires a stylist.

@TopSteer: Naomi looked beautiful, that colour is great on her! I wish the top of the dress was a little more fitted to her figure though

@pantaloons:

Gosh, Julianne Hough looks downright gorgeous in that yellow dress she was wearing and her blond hair, which was tied up in a fashionable way. Her blue eyes are also stunning.

I also thought Anne Hathaway looked great in her Chanel outfit.
