Mass Effect 3's controversial extended ending came out this Tuesday and I was there back in the fray taking femshep through the endgame once more. Did anybody else download it? Let's chat about it...

I'd normally just have the discussion on GB, but I like you guys/gals more!

I can't imagine I'll get it. I didn't mind the ending like most of the internet seemed to (I guess I didn't feel entitled to something perfect nor did I expect it to be).

When I finished ME3 I was done completely. The game overall made me frustrated and once I was done I didn't want to dive back in.

Nope, I've never played M.E. so I doubt I would be able to help you enjoy a conversation.

I watched them on youtube. Meh

Started to download it but it was taking too long so decided to just watch a couple of the endings. I never really had a problem with the original endings anyway, but I think what they did to the Destroy ending (Essentially undo everything) was pretty stupid. The new ending is now probably the best.

Not really bothered overall though.

I agree you guys. I only appreciated the brief cutscenes that filled in the plot holes, then felt upset because they should of been there in the first place. But I didn't have the personal stake to see my Shepard reach the end of her journey. I wasn't as involved. I only chose one of the endings simply because it'd be one less video to watch on youtube later, it wasn't necessarily what my Shepard would of chosen.

nah I probably won't I never liked playing the last mission and I was completely fine with the ending I got I thought it was a good ending for how the series had progressed for my shepard (started off a saint but slowly became more and more renegade) and I think it would be weird to play throughout the ending now that its been a couple of months since i played the game. I am interested to see whats changed though when i eventually run through the series with a fem shep

@TheFaithfullyDeparted: The voice actress who does femshep is was more emotive than male Shepard's voice actor.

@RockinKemosabe: sadly learned about that after i finished 2, since I already started paragon does she do a good job in 1 and 2 as a renegade?

@TheFaithfullyDeparted: Again, she's more emotive. There'll be times where she'll be shouting and it'll feel a little forced, but she does quiet intimidation like a badass. I'd recommend going back to play the trilogy after some time, mostly when you have nothing else really to play, which may this summer by the look of things release wise. Here's one of my favorite parts from ME1.

I think someone in this thread needs to represent the voice of those who hated the original endings. The EC definitely helped address a lot of the confusion surrounding the "starchild" guy and it's motives, but of course, couldn't really change much in the grand scheme of things. I was surprisingly pleased with the changes made.

I watched it on YouTube because like hell am I playing the least entertaining 4 hours of the game again! (Well, Cerberus HQ was ace and the final trench run and everything the comes after was extremely interesting) Viewed my ending, Destroy, and I thought it was OK. Rather anticlimactic, though. After all of that, all of the controversy, all of the bitching, all of the campaigns, all of the backlash we got...

...a monologue and some still images in what, essentially, added up to a motion comic.

I can just imagine Bioware going, "HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT FANBOYS!! (flips a pair of birds at fanboys)"

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I even loved the original ending, but I just love how anti-climactic the whole process ended up! I think it's darkly hysterical!

I played it. It's definitely a huge improvement but it still can't help but feel like an apology.

I chose the Synthesis option, and that felt like a powerful ending to me. Seeing everyone huddled around Shepard (Male) and Admiral David Anderson's memorial brought tears to my ears. The only weird thing about it was seeing everyone with a greenish glow coming from their eyes.

Plus, the extended cut helped clear up all of the confusion I had on the original ending. So, yeah, I think it's worth it.

I was kinda late to the party as I've only beaten the game about a month ago but I haven't played the extended ending yet. I didn't really have any problems with the original ending. I might just wait until all the DLC is out and do another playthrough.

Wow.. this is odd seeing this here O_O

I just barely got into ME3 and after I beat it I played the extended ending. I was being a dick and shot the kid and then the worst possible ending happened. It also scared the crap out of me,
