I'm drowning in Podcasts!

I listen to a lot of podcasts. Well at least it's a lot to me since I don't really know how other people listen to them. Anyways, I need to trim the fat and I'm posting to get some opinions and/or suggestions as to what to do.

Are going to stay

The Giant Bombcast - I like the longer podcasts and the insane conversations make me laugh.

The Comic Conspiracy - I'm still a newb when it comes to comics but the business behind it all is very interesting to me and that's what these guys talk about. It's less about the comics themselves and more about how the industry is.

Channel Surfing - These guys don't update as much as I would like and their episodes dedicated to one interview are not good. However it's the only TV only podcast I have so it's got to stay.

The Chopping Block

Film Sack - The fact that these guys watch bad movies and still have something interesting/funny to say about them is a big plus. However every episode drags in the middle and I kind of tune out. On top of that their not keeping up to date on anything recent so this could go.

The Comedy Button - I've never had a Podcast make me laugh as consistently as these guys. But their still new and have yet to find their groove. I don't know, I'm still leaning on keeping this one.

Comic Vine - Again I'm fresh to comics and I like the fact they do a rundown of the weeks story arcs and give an anaylsis of the weeks news. But their opinions drive me up the walls. On top of that the rampant hypocrisy that goes on makes me want to punch things. Really it should go because of me more than anything.

Behind the Screened Door - Don't hate me. If things need to be cut then they need to be cut. The only real downside here is that their doing it over skype with no solid third chair which I think would help. I still don't think I have the guts to cut it though.

The /filmcast - Let's put it this way. I like the news segment and their what their watching segment has been helpful in the past but I now go out of my not to listen to their weekly reviews. Their breakdowns of films are pretentious, idiotic, and plain wrong.

This is Only a Test - Most tech conversations go over my head is just that these guys work great together fake outtakes are the only reason I keep listening really.

Weekend Confirmed - While their not as zany as the Giant Bombcast their discussions about video games as a medium, industry, and past time are invaluable.

The League of Extremely Ordinary Gentlemen - Again a long podcast about all kinds of nerd stuff. But their pretty pretentious about it and their drunken ramblings can get annoying. I would like to keep it but I don't know.

Should Probably just Go

Keepin' it Reel - With only no consistency to release a podcast they haven't given me much reason to keep listening.

Rebel FM - I used to love these guys but they just seem bored now.

The Geek Box - With no weekly show to talk about and Adam Finch being one of the dumbest people on the planet I just can't listen anymore.

The Hey Ash Whatcha Playin' Podcast - Don't get me wrong I love their web show but the podcast has gone downhill. They keep adding in all their friends over skype and it becomes a clusterfuck to listen too.

The Tobolowsky Files - This is a show that everyone should listen to up to about ten episodes from where I am at. The stories just aren't that good anymore and the format has become very obvious to me.

Cut the /Filmcast and add Operation Kino. They have a much more diverse group, and they're much more eloquent, so you get a wide array of opinions and lively discussion. Best movie podcast going these days. /Film is a great site for press releases, but those guys have VERY poor taste in movies and are genuinely bad at expressing why they think the way they do.

I stopped listening to Rebel FM a long time ago, they don't even have a schedule.

On HAWP podcast, I don't listen because I'm hoping I'll get Anthony's opinion on games but it's never about that. I miss Rev Rant but I've moved onto Extra Creditz.

Unless if you're a very active user on Screened and like the community like me, I have no problem with you dropping BtSD. They always sound tired, feel like they just want to get it over with, but once in a while it's fun to hear them rant on bad movies they've reviewed e.g. The Devil Inside. And they read all the questions out, so there's that if you ever want a question answered.

Weekend Confirmed is the only one I would tell you stick to, because they're relevant, and seem to be the only mainstream videogame podcast to have deep discussions. I can take or leave Andrea Renee as a guest, but Jeff Cannata is always hilarious. I just wish they had a harsher critic/devil's advocate there like Brian Leahy used to be, or Shane on 1UP.

I tend to listen to one podcast at a time, I get really into the hosts and the vibe etc and will listen to all the backlog. Then when i'm caught up i'll eventually get sucked up into another one and i'll start listening to all the previous episodes of that one. Sometimes i'll get bored of the old ones and drop them.

Also I am ashamed to say I don't listen to BtSD.

I also have to admit I don't really ever listen to BtSD. I now only really listen to the Bombcast. I occasionally listen to ComicVine's but I really don't care for the Staff over there so I almost never find myself listening though when they have somebody on the Podcast as a guest, then I listen. I honestly have to say I find Tony kinda boring and Sara and Corey aren't much more entertaining either. I've tried listening to Tested's but I know nothing about Tech or gadgets so I never really understand what they're talking about. I have to say one that I can recommend is Chris Hardwick's The Nerdist Podcast.

I had this problem a few months ago, too many podcasts, not enough time.

I trimmed down to a handful, and luckily one podcast really changed for the worse, which left me with Bombcast and Screened. I watch Tested's video which makes it easier to skip some of the tech stuff I don't understand or care about.

I was a bit overwhelmed by the tech talk (cameras, Android versions, etc.) in This Is Only A Test as well, but over the couple of months I've caught up.

I used to listen To Rebel and Geekbox.

Geekbox is great if you're into what they talk about (japanese games, Burn notice, Doctor Who). When you have no connection, it has no quality at all. When Rebel FM talked about relationships, it was fucking great, other than that it was kind of lackluster.

Cut them, I'll say.

Whoa, that's a lot of podcasts. I pretty much only listen to BtSD, TiOaT, and the Bombcast. I'll probably start listening to the Comicvine podcast, too, but I don't know anything about comics.

@PatVB unless your going to start reading comics there is zero reason to listen to comicvine. It's nothing but them complaining about continuity them saying you shouldn't worry about it and then spend ten minutes complaining about how superman jaw is drawn in one panel.

I went through this about a week ago went from roughly 28 to 20 now im at 23.

I'd cut /film I used to listen but had a bunch of other movie podcasts and had to cut something. I'm bummed that Keepin it Reel dosen't actually discuss the movies on a regular basis but as a decent 45 min bite of weekly news not bad.

Channel Surfing is good except when those damn TCA's happen and they don't do anything for like 3 weeks but meh thats like twice a year maybe 3 idk.

I like Rebel FM a lot since its just a bunch of dudes from other sites talking about games and not a site sponsered one I really miss those relationship letters damn they were funny.

In the end though its all your choice and a matter of personal taste.

I only listen to the Bombcast, BtSD and This is Only a Test and I can't keep up with that. You are a mad man!

Holy crap. I can barely listen to three podcasts.

I think BtSd would benefit from having a third regular on it. The recent episode with Ryan Davis was the best they have put out in a long long time. Comicvine is an acquired taste, if you can get over some of the presenters annoying quirks (Corey's constant laugh track is soul destroying sometimes) it's a good podcast to keep up with the latest comic news. I actually dropped it for Major Spoilers (which is ok in small doses) for a time there but I went back when they started doing more interviews with comic creators and writers. This is only a Test and the Bombcast are golden IMO and i wouldn't miss an episode. I also listen to Newstalk's OffTheBall podcast which covers most sports, although with more a focus on things Irish and English. My guilty pleasure is A Podcast of Ice and Fire, which unsurprisingly is about George R. R. Martins A Song of Ice and Fire series, they also have reactions to the tv show with discussions/reviews of every episode. It's a hard podcast to get into, it's full of in-jokes, spoilers and crazy theories on the series, plus it's absolutely filthy. However if like me you love the books and can get their sense of humour I'd recommend downloading the entire run. Maybe start with an episode where they are talking about the t.v show to see if you like their style.

BtSD is definitely an inconsistent one, the last 2 weeks have been golden though, high energy and interesting discussion

iv just started listening to Rebel FM myself, i really like the low key games discussionand the music episode towards the end of last year was fucking cool, its a nice juxtaposition to the Bombcasts high energy insanity

I'm lucky because I can listen to podcasts at work so I get through quite a few:

Rebel FM and Giant Bomb are my two gaming podcasts for pretty much the same reasons as

For films I listen to /Film, Film Riot, Film State, BtsD and Movies You May Have Missed.

My biggest problem with BtsD is every week it's "Oh god, we've got to rush and get through quickly because of Giant Bomb", apart from that I think it's a fine podcast.

Well I've narrowed it down to nine which I think is much better than before. Thanks everyone for the help.

/film is terrible, I used to listen to it but those guys have terrible taste and are way too pretentious.

@Mr_skeleton: true but they still are not as bad as filmspotting.
