Come on, I know you're lurking around My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fans. You're everywhere.

And if you're not an FiM fan, what are you doing in this thread? Get outta here!

For too long, we have had no outlet within the entire Whiskey Media network to discuss ponies. That changes now. Starting this week (though arguably last week, the first article is a little late) I'll be covering the show for Anime Vice, giving you an "official" place to get your fill of pony-talk with your Whiskey Media buddies. "But Newten!" you say; "Friendship is Magic ain't no anime, son!" True, I can't argue with that. However, considering the fact that the crazy internet fan base for the show and the target demographic for the Whiskey Media sites are remarkably similar, I suggested the idea to staff. Ethan liked the idea and gave me the green light.

The first article is up and you can follow the new Anime Vice community twitter feed to keep track of all the articles that hit the homepage. Hope to see you in the comments.

Thanks for everything Dan, but so far, we haven't seen anyone else come out of the Brony Closet recently besides whoever's in this other thread. Seriously, it shouldn't be that hard, though. Coming out of the Anime Fan closet shouldn't be that hard either. *looks around the area*

I would rather this show up on Screened since it's, y'know, a TV show. An American one? Anyway, I'll check it out, as I do totally love the show.

@litrock: Sure, but I can actually get away with posting it up on the homepage on Anime Vice, I wouldn't even suggest it here. You know, unless it turns out Rorie is secretly a fan (I can almost, aaaaalmost see it, but not quite).

Anyway, I appreciate anyone checking the article out. Comments/discussion in the article is encouraged, it's how we know users enjoy an article. Thanks.

I knew your AnimeVice loyalties would screw Screened over!

Maybe he's not a fan yet, but I bet he would be if he saw the show. We just need to get him to watch it! And he totally seems like a Fluttershy kind of guy.

Anyway, it's cool you're doing and I'm definitely going to check it out, it would just be better if it was on Screened, a place I go to everyday. :P

@FinalDasa: Oh no! I've been found out!

@Chuck: Nothing wrong with spreading yourself over the Whiskey sites a little bit. Anime Vice seems to have the biggest concentration of fans so far, I'm sure there are plenty more hiding out there though.

I'm disappointed the "important news" wasn't "you're all getting banned and your addresses have been documented on one of those family watch-dog websites."

:O You had the same diabolical plot as me!? Who'd have thought that?

I'm kidding, of course! You know we all love this site too much for such things. ;p Sadly, I'm not sure if Rorie might be a closet MLP fan either.

@Bigheart711: I bet he'd be way into it if there were more puppies in it.

Can I just ask what the appeal is?  Please don't take this as an insult but I've watched a handful of episodes with my niece and  I just don't get why grown men love this show.  I can appreciate that for a show on a network owned by a toy company that it is better then a glorified paid advertisement and isn't as offensively awful as most children programming.
I am not someone who is against a grown ass dude watching cartoons meant for kids.  I routinely watch Adventure Time and Regular Show. I still miss Chowder and The Misadventures of Flapjack. Hell I occasionally watch episodes of Men In Black: TAS(this show is surprisingly good) and Batman TAS on The Hub.

So what is it about these magical ponies that drive you men wild?

@not_a_bumblebee: Sure, I'll copy over one of my replies from the Giant Bomb thread, since I'll end up writing the same stuff anyway:

Yeah, granted it doesn't exactly have a riveting story to it overall, so if that's what you're looking for you're not going to get it. For the most part (there are some exceptions) episodes are self contained and can be watched pretty independently of each other. The show generally focuses on the happenings in the town the characters live in. People who like it watch it for the characters, writing, humour, production values and especially for the references and nods to the older fans. If you want to get a quick idea of what I'm talking about just check the article out.

I dunno, I guess it's kind of comparable to something like K-ON! in a lot of ways (an anime about 5 high school girls in a music club) which has it's fair share of haters too. People watch these things because they like the characters and their personalities.

It also helps that it's super-easy to just watch the show. The episodes are all over youtube. If the internet wasn't around and the show was just on TV it wouldn't have spread around the way it has and gained a crazy older fan base.
