I have been coming to Screened for years now. I have loved the personalities, and the community, and being apart of a site where I can share my love for film, and with people who have my own love for film.
For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with film. I have always dreamed of working in the film industry and have slowly but slowly and surely been working toward this goal. A couple of years ago, I was an extra in a short film. A short film developed and devised by some good friends of mine, Jimmie Rogers and Mike Turner. The film, Your Casanova, was about a hardworking, stand-up man who is plagued by terrible nightmares of murdering a woman whom he had never met. The film turned out quite well and I was excited to be a part of it.
Now, two years after Your Casanova, the team is hard at work on on their next film. This film, with the story concept created by Jimmie Rogers and the screenplay written by Joe Serrano, has been in the works for much longer than Your Casanova and is the love and care of many people. The film is The Devil's Hand. The following is a quick synopsis of the story; aimed at giving you a small taste of the film at large:
A hotshot politician is thrust into the unknown when he is involved in a fatal accident that forces a confrontation with Lucifer. He is then compelled to make a decision as old as time itself that opposes all that he stands for.
Jimmie Rogers will be directing the film and has poured his heart and soul into it and I cannot wait to see what he is capable of with this script (Which I just recently had the pleasure of reading). Joe Serrano's script is quite layered and impeccable; especially with a run time that is shooting for half an hour. Mike Turner, who co-directed Your Casanova, will be in the producer chair, along with Marcus Braithwaite, and Maxwell Keith McCormick (myself). As long as I have been coming to this site, it gives me such pleasure to be posting on a film, that I am a part of... that we are all apart of. There are so many hands at work here that it's hard to fully translate. This is a movie that many have put their lives into and as someone who has seen such amazing work in film, I can say when people truly pour their souls into something, special things come about.
Mike Turner will also be doing the cinematography. I've seen his work, and he is a visionary craftsman.
We begin filming on June 2, 2012. Yes, that's right, in less than one month we will begin filming our project and we cannot wait for the day that it goes up on Screened, and we discuss it's success.

The above pictures are of Jonathan Thornton, who is doing the effects for Lucifer in the film.
The group picture on the bottom is of various members of the crew: Producer Mike Turner, Producer Maxwell Keith McCormick (me), Director Jimmie Rogers, Effects Artist Jonathan Thornton, and James Walker Wallace who will be playing Lucifer in the film.
