Screened... Are you ready?

Are you ready to be excited again?

Are you ready to break the walls down?

Are you ready to just say yes?

Over the past few years, the online wrestling communities I have been a part of have come and gone. Here at Whiskey Media, they have the tools to truly make an incredible wrestling website (I mean seriously, have you ever been to a wrestling website that didn't look like a clusterfuck of a design?). So I enjoy the thought of showing Whiskey that a wrestling community could thrive on the websites forum structure, and perhaps one day we can get our wish of a wrestling website with full-blown wiki (I mean, anime vice exists, why not wrestling?).

With this in mind, I have one thing to say here: WE'RE TAKING O-VER!

As you may or may not know, we already have grown a collection of users for the cause over on Giant Bomb's "The Wrestling Ring" forum, and we have weekly live chats during WWE Raw, and WWE/TNA PPV's. We are also interested in the wide world of the sport, and often talk about independent wrestling promotions like Chikara and Ring of Honor as well as mainstream companies like WWE and TNA. Also, we're open to discussing the glorious history of professional wrestling in these threads. So join us, Whiskeymaniacs, in the Wrestling Revolution!

In the mean time, I'm going to strip down to my boxer shorts and handcuff myself to the ring until we get a damn Wrestling Wiki.

Dude, I've been looking for that full Ric Flair promo for about a year now. Thank the heavens, thank you for finding it for me.

So Raw was pretty alright tonight. The matches were meh (outside of Punk/Bryan) but the red hot crowd made it way more watchable than it should've been. Rock & Cena did fine work tonight.

Fuck the Rock. Fuck him so hard. Cena has been destroying him for the past two weeks, and The Rock has been fumbling around trying to find some sort of comeback.

All in all, rock solid show, and that Jericho/Punk promo made my night.

I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!

Raw was all right. I realized that I am totally over the Rock at this point. Sure he captivated the crowd at the arena fine enough, but his ramblings haven't changed a bit since this whole thing started. We get it, Cena's a bitch and he has lady parts. Does he really not have any other insults to throw his way? It just seems lazy on his part. I'm not saying the Rock still can't entertain; he can and he does at times. It's just not the same though. I think it was JR that pointed out to me that the Rock isn't here for this year's Wrestlemania as "The Rock", he's here as "The Celebrity Guest Star, he just also happens to be able to wrestle professionally when he so desires."

The Teddy Long vs Johnny Ace thing is shaping up a bit better than I was expecting. It's nice to at least see someone other than Punk calling Mr. Excitement on his bullshit out there.

"Chris Jericho invented Canada" is a great line as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a bit disappointed to see Primo and Epico retain the tag titles. It helps bring credit to them as a tag team, but I'm worried it will quickly shut down any momentum that Ziggler and Swagger or Kofi and Truth have as tags to help build up the division.

Kane.. man, are they even going to do anything with him? What is there to do with him at this point?

I'm assuming that on Smackdown they're going to have to focus more on the whole Sheamus vs D.Bry thing, right? With as much time as they've spent now on Punk vs Bryan you'd think that was going to be the fight at Mania. I know Sheamus has done a couple of run downs on Bryan to try and cost him the match but so far it still seems like it's just a non-issue as far as Bryan is concerned.

I'm enjoying Cody vs Big Show. Mostly just because of the videos of Big Show failing at Wrestlemania year after year. I have absolutely no idea what's going to go on with those two actually wrestling. Big Show seems like he's been slipping a lot lately and just doesn't have it anymore. Not to say he had a lot to go with before, but, it's just been getting worse.

Also disappointed this is another week of no Brodus. With any luck he'll make it back to Smackdown or something. They've jeopardized so much with him by pulling him from t.v. the way they did. I'm sure they had their own reason. Then again, I'd like to believe there's some reason that Drew McIntyre still hasn't had anything done at all with the semi-story they were trying to build up for him, but, who knows.

I want Kane to win the Tag Titles by himself. That would be pretty awesome.

It wouldn't be the first time, thinking about it. There was a ladder match in... 2004? Tag team ladder match where he won the tag titles by himself. RVD then got chosen as his partner, if I remember correctly.

@FateOfNever: If you watched closely Jericho had to literally bite his lip to keep from laughing at that line. Punk was on fire.

@Oldirtybearon: He did tag with RVD right before his unmasking. However I think what you reffering to was when he teamed with Hurricane. Hurricane got jumped before the match leaving only kane to fight RVD & Jeff Hardy vs. Bubba & Spike Dudley vs Jericho & Christian. It was 2002 on RAW in a TLC match.

Yeah, you're right. Fuck that was a long time ago.

He still won by himself.

You guys can help me out with the wrestling wiki pages then! (But I still call dibs on the CM Punk/Kelly Kelly pages. Y'all can have your picks of the rest.)

Post by TurboMan (63 posts) See mini bio

I just don't find Screened's wrestler pages good enough though... I might chip in and do some work, but I'd much prefer a wiki with... *dusts off the old post from somewhere else*

Wiki:

Wrestlers/Managers/Characters/Announcers/Owners/People - Obviously.

Companies/Promotions - WWE/WCW/ECW/blah blah blah

PPV's / DVDs - each PPV gets its own wiki (like every movie gets their own wiki)

Venues - I live close to the Norfolk Scope... wouldn't it be awesome if I could look that up and find all the history about it (DX invaded WCW, classic NWA/WCW PPV's, etc)

Titles -

Stables

Concepts/Cliches - For example, Attacking Your Jacket (Ric Flair, Jay Lethal, etc) or Drinking Beer (Austin, Sandman, etc)

Moves - I want a list of who all does a moonsault, and where that moonsault came from.

Match Types - match types are tied to the PPV pages

Weapons (maybe?)

On the Related Pages sidebar: Allies - Rivals - Concepts - Stables

Apparently Raw's ratings for The Rock's return weren't so hot, and neither were the buyrates for Royal Rumble (down 20k buys from last year).

Dose anyone live in the Sinclair broadcasting markets and actually gets to see ROH On TV?

Post by TurboMan (63 posts) See mini bio

@MrMazz: I get ROH on TV, but it comes on Saturday at 5 PM, so I'm never able to watch it. I'm willing to just wait till thursday to watch the newest episode on their website (which the website is abysmal anyway).

@VinceNotVance: I think the segment with The Rock was up to 3.4-3.5, and the segments featuring Bryan/Punk/Jericho was around 3.3-3.4. I don't really care too much for ratings anyway...

It's bad to see Royal Rumble buys went down 20k this year, since I would say that the card was quite solid compared to last year. I would say that CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler was a good match on paper, and Jericho was returning to wrestle in the rumble.
