Back on February 25, 2011, I finally decided to create an account over here on Screened. I initially didn't spend much time on here as I pretty much spent all my time on ComicVine. But over time I slowly began to spend more and more time on this site to the point where it became the only Whiskey Media site I habitually use.
Since I joined I've accumulated over 63,000 wiki points across various pages with the John Carter page being the one I consider to be my best, I've 23 blogs (24 counting this), written 39 reviews most of which I feel are no good except for my review of J. Edgar which has sadly gotten no love because it really is my best review.
At first I very rarely posted in the forums or on articles and focused mainly of editing wiki but then I decided to really stop editing and focus more on posting in the forums and writing blogs and have since accumulated over 1,050 posts.
Why did I join?
Well, I've always had an interest in movies and I really quite liked this site. Since I've joined I've watched countless films a lot of which I watched because people recommended them and have seen 63 this year alone.
For those who want to start editing the site, star out like I did editing episode pages and doing the basics like adding cats and and stuff because that's what I did for a while before slowly moving up to writing out character pages and concepts, and then to movie pages like I do now. You don't always have to follow the style guide and don't be put down if you submission is rejected. In fact my second submission to the wiki was rejected by ScanCase. If you're thinking about the wiki, do it because we need more people who want to do it because I want to see this site become even more amazing than it is now.
Why do I like this site?
Well, unlike other sites people here on Screened can discuss their opinions with each other without ever having to get nasty about someone else's opinion. You very rarely see that on the internet and to me that's why Screened stands out as the best Whiskey Media site and one of the best websites out there. Of course I have to give props to Rorie and Alex who make this site what it is. It wouldn't be what without the great staff we have and the freelancers too all of whom put out really great articles that are always a joy to read (that is if they're not too long like they are sometimes).
Another reason is yeah the community of this site who are totally unlike the rest of the communities and act very civilized in comparison to the users of other forums. I'm not going to name names or point my finger at any specific site but I think we all know which Whiskey Media sadly has some really idiotic users. I love the site and it does have a number of normal civilized users and has great content but there's a reason why I spend more of my time on Screened than any other WM site.
Although the disturbing lack of love for The Big Bang Theory on CBS is something I find absolutely puzzling about this site. I for sure thought that site full of people who love Star Trek and all these other things that are constantly mentioned on the show and poked fun of And also I should say I love this site because sometimes threads on here all of a sudden just derail into talking about Batman.
