What kind of food do you love but would never make at home?

I think that I could probably make just about anything that I eat in a restaurant at home, given the right tools. Oddly enough, the one that requires the fewest tools, sushi, is one that I just don't think I'd ever bother trying at home. It seems like it'd be way too easy to mess up, plus the whole "years of training just to work in Safeway" thing seems a bit daunting.

Sushi is easy when you have the right ingredients. I tend to swing back and forth between meals my mom would make me and easy frozen and powder based meals which are heavy on the sodium.

None really, I love to cook. Also I never eat out, if I don't want to cook I get take out which is usually a pizza. I can make a pretty amazing homemade pizza. Being vegetarian makes going to restaurants depressing, trust me I have had enough disgusting looking (and tasting) vegetarian lasagne to last me a lifetime.

I would like to think i'm a pretty good cook. When it comes down to it I can't cook fish at all. Even if I had a gun to my head I would mess it up. I love all types of fish and all the ways they can be cooked but every time I've tried it never turns out the way those pros cook it for me. The only kind I can make and turn out decent is fried catfish only because it is so simple.

@GreatestEver99: Get a fillet of fish, some foil and some kind of herby butter. Spread some butter on the fish, wrap in foil and shove it in the oven. Fish done.

@Christina: You make it sound so easy. Guess i'll stop by the market to grab a fillet of in season fish after work.

@GreatestEver99: Good luck, also I should tell you I don't even eat fish. My flatmate cooked it like that all the time though.

@Rorie: I watched how its made and there is this special puffer fish in Japan and it's super dangerous to eat because all of its organs all poisonous. But they serve it and the chef said it took him practicing everyday for 5 years to get his licence.
