User Questions

Hey duders. With all the hate for remakes these days, I would like to know which remake would you like to see? (this question might be a repeat, so sorry if it's been asked before!)

Rorie - In Time

Alex - intresting

Rorie - In Time 2: Just in time

Rorie - I'm joking

Rorie - The NeverEnding Story

Alex - Yes

Rorie - Do it and go balls to the wall crazy

Alex - I've got nothing

I recently really got into John Hughes movies this past year. I watched all of them and loved some and disliked others. But what I did like I really really loved (Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, Uncle Buck). I was wondering which John Hughes written but not directed movies were worth watching?

Thanks Screened Dudes!

Rorie - I'd need to look that up

Alex - Same here

Rorie - Good lord, he wrote the beethoven films!

Alex - Clearly Flubber is the answer!

Hey fells, are there any genres that were once popular that you'd like to see more directors tackle? I'm thinking western, noir, screwball comedy, etc... (funny that the Cohen brothers have done all three). More specifically, are there any directors in particular that you'd like to see take on a genre otherwise unfamiliar to them?

Rorie - There are very few dead genre of films

Rorie - Noire is really the only genre that could be considered dead.

Alex - terrence malick direct something he didn't write

Alex - David Lynch attacking the teen sex film

Hey screened peoples, I got way into 80's horror movies this fall on a whim, watching a lot of classics like Alien and Aliens, The Thing, and the Evil Dead movies for the first time (in no small part to Alex's Besties video for The Thing). My question it two fold, what other 80's horror movies would you recommend, and what are some modern horror movies that you guys think are good (actual horror, gore porn doesn't do anything for me).

Thanks!

Alex - The thing is a horror film

Alex - Aliens is action, Alien is horror.

Rorie - I'm drawing a blank

Alex - The first few hellraiser films

Alex - The blob remake

Are you able to differentiate watching a movie for pleasure opposed to watching it for work? Can you make that conscious decision to flip that switch, or has your time at Screened strengthened your subconscious critic?

Rorie, have you any room in your heart for the Feline race? Alex, how hard is it to break a drumstick whilst drumming?

You both (all?) are awesome. Much love from Reno!

Rorie - I wish i could watch more movies for pleasure, i watch tv for pure pleasure

Alex - I tend to criticise slightly even when watching for entertainment

Who has the most dignity left, Wes Craven or John Carpenter?

Rorie - John Carpenter

Alex - I disagree. In a recent interview i read John Carpenter was talking about how he only liked remakes if he was being paid.

So I was thinking about how to improve the movie In Time and thought of this movie and I was wondering what you guys think.

It's a time in the future where everyone is genetically altered to be a douchebag. Everyone is assigned a a wrist device and every day a name of a person nearby appears on your wrist device and you have to hunt that person out and punch them in the face, but somewhere out there someone has your name! What do you think of this as a starting point?

Rorie - Sounds a better video game than film

Women of the podcast

That's a wrap

So that is me kind of done. Encase you didn't read the summary from episode 76, this Behind the screened door summary is my last regular entry. I'm not saying I won't do another, its just not going to be weekly. Maybe I shall resurrect it for special events. The 100th podcast, an Oscar special or a film of the year discussion and the like.

Don't worry i'm not abandoning screened. I just don't have the available free time to continue lightly documenting the podcast. Hope you have enjoyed what I i've produced. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy writing the summaries each week.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

I'm still going to be listening to the podcast, so if an episode is worthy (they are all worthy, but you know what I mean) of a Behind the Screened Door Summary I'm not opposed to writing one.
