Behind The Screened Door - Podcast Dissection - Show #27 08/11/2010
This is the episode in which the Screened crew discusses Due Date, Megamind, the inexplicable appeal of Tyler Perry, and the latest episode of The Walking Dead (spoilers!). Plus we discover multiple Defending Your Movie candidates for Rorie, and Alex spends an inordinate amount of time trying to remember the name of an Ashton Kutcher movie that hasn't even come out yet. Clearly, this is our best episode yet.

skidd In previous podcasts you've mentioned that child actors can be pretty poor. What did you think of Stand By Me , as it relies heavily on kids acting as leads in the film?
HandsomeDead Is there a working actor with as much good will as Dwayne Johnson? People lost interest in Vin Diesel after his family comedies but everyone still wants The Rock to do well even though he's done nothing good since The Rundown.

Hey guys, just wondering if you had an all-time favorite music video.
nofx4208 Alex, as a drummer, what are some movies that have noteworthy drum or percussion solos in them? Wes Anderson and Jody Hill like their drum solos, and I saw the Dolemite screening room, and when he was getting patted down by fake cops, there was some cool set stuff playing. A PERCUSSION piece that comes to mind is Convergence by Jonny Greenwood from There Will be Blood in the "Oil Derrick" scene... fuck.

If you could make a cameo appearance in any 2011 movie, what would you choose?
sleeprockss How do you feel about Dennis Lehane adaptations such as Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River, and Shutter Island? I enjoy his books and the movie adaptations, I enjoyed the Gone Baby Gone movie adaptation especially because it elaborated more on the books ending.
Killjoi What is your favorite biopic movie/performance ? I find Ben Kingsley's transformation in Gandhi to be nigh-untouchable (no pun intended).

y ou ever had the experience when you view a movie you liked as a child and you realize that this movie is in fact terrible? Has this ever given you pause when you think about watching one of these nostalgia flicks?

I'm from the UK and just wanted to know your views on the widespread casting of UK actors as leads in major US shows. It seems like almost every big show nowadays has a UK lead like House, True Blood, Walking Dead, Lie to Me, Sons of Anarchy, Boardwalk Empire, etc. Do you think there is a precedent for UK actors being cast ahead of others?
