Managing the Podcast emails has become a bit laborious, but that's honestly a pretty good problem to have! Thanks for all the interest you guys have shown in the podcast and all the great questions we're getting (this week especially).

We wanted to open up this forum as an easier way to keep track of Podcast questions. You can feel free to keep discussion of the actual Podcast on the Podcast page itself. Let's try to keep this forum for the actual asking of questions for the podcast itself. It'll hopefully be easier for us to keep track of things this way!

@Pickle:  If you mean the podcast, Alex posted earlier saying they were postponing it tomorrow because a special guest was coming for one day only.

Question:

With Ryan Davis recently announcing his plans for new instalments into the ongoing T.A.N.G. experiment, I was wondering whether we would see any of these reviews featured on Screened or whether there would be any contributions from the Screened crew of cinema junkies?

What do you guys like more, the art on a movie poster or the art on a DVD cover?  I would also like to know if you have a favorite movie poster or DVD cover.  (hell mention the one's adorning your walls if you got em')

I feel like the answer here is obvious.  Movie posters are usually awesome even if the film doesn't turn out so great.  Most of the time I wish crappy DVD cover art would just use the designs from posters, but they only seem to do it for the deluxe editions of releases.  Obviously the aim of both are purely marketing.  A movie poster tends to be subtle to draw you into the mystery of the new or returning intellectual properties.  DVD covers just seem to cram as many characters and themes on the box as possible to remind people of anything they may have enjoyed about it's theatrical release.  "Remember this guy?  How bout that girl?  Don't forget that this movie has hi-jinks."  Movie posters all the way!

Question:

Rockumentaries and Concert Films! As someone who has a deep connection to all things musical, I find such things beyond fascinating. What are some of your favourites? Mine include The Kids are Alright (The Who) and End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones.

And speaking of rock n' roll, how do you feel about Mike Meyers playing Keith Moon in the alleged Keith Moon project? As a devout Who fan, I can't say I'm excited at all, I think that Jason Schwartzman would do far better. Your thoughts?

Here is my question.

What do you guys thinks of the old live action Ninja Turtle movies and the recent CGI one?  Also are you guys excited at all about the new Ninja Turtles movie that is suppose to come out in 2012?

Thanks!

What do you guys think about films adapted from novels?
I often have a sceptical view of any novel adaption and the Harry Potter films have killed that franchise for me.
The same has happened for a few other franchises.
Has this ever happened to you?
The only exceptions I can think of are the Lord of the Rings movies but they broke so far away from the novel that they are really just inspired by rather than adapted from.
I do have hopes for the Dragon tattoo movies though.

Given the fact that I am 14, I haven't seen a single Coen Brothers film, and I would like to know, what are some good gateway Coen Brothers movies?

P.S. Worse or Worserer suggestion,  the direct-to-video Captain America film vs. Howard the Duck.

@smartoonkid
You probably should check out No Country for Old Men. That's probably their best movie and most easy to get into.

Questions:
-The eighties had great cartoons but which one was your favorite. These shows don't have to hold up today, but as a kid, which would you most look forward to watching? For instance, my choice would be Thundercats. HOO!
-Similarly, which show had the best theme song? (Doesn't have to be cartoon.)

Special request:
Please make Alex say "dollar" or "trailer" over and over again.  Distasteful yes?

How do you feel about credits in the opening of a movie

not sure if this is the right place for questions, so sorry for the repost...

 Hey guys.

While perusing the site, I've noticed that there's often a sizable discrepancy between the cost of making films and the money that they bring in. In short, how can Hollywood keep churning out films that cost so much when so many of them end up in the red. Is 'Knight and Day' really gonna make up that last $40 Mil in the next few weeks? Or what about a film like 'The Wolfman'? Can they really hope to sell 12 million dollars worth of blu-ray/dvds? And that's not even taking into consideration the marketing budgets.

Obviously there are people suffering in the industry (e.g. MGM), but do you think these flopbusters are isolated to a movie-by-movie case, or are they symptomatic of an over-inflated industry, and if so, do you see a change in they 'throw money at it and hope it works' mentality coming anytime soon?

thanks.

Knowing that Rorie is an avid World of Warcraft player, I was just wondering if he is excited about the World of Warcraft movie that Sam Raimi is directing. Do you feel that World of Warcraft's "rich" lore justifies it being made a movie out of?
