Hey Matt and Alex,

My question to you is: what are some of the biggest movie letdowns that you can remember (movies that you really looked forward to that ended up sucking). Mine would have to be the entire new Star Wars trilogy with Episode 3 in particular, since not only was it extremely boring (20 minutes of Anakin and Palpatine talking are not my thing), but also gave extremely vague and shitty reasons for Anakin becoming Vader ("My wife is dying so let's go kill Jedi children?"). Thanks

Does Drive have any hope what so ever at winning any Oscar? Sure I hope it wins best picture but i don't see that happening. Do you guys have any Oscar hopefuls that you would actually love to see nominated or even win?

Hey Matt & Alex,

After watching The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo last weekend, I decided to go revisit David Fincher's previous work. I can honestly say that outside of Benjamin Button, I still enjoy all of his films. This includes the often forgotten The Game and Panic Room. How would you rate Fincher's catalog so far from Best to Worst and what do you think about his next film being a new version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?

P.S. Would Seven ever be considered for a Besties?

Greetings guys! So what is up with this "trend" of going to websites for more information at the end of movies? Outside of The Devil Inside, I remember Apollo 18 doing this as well. Do the studios think people will really care that much to seek out more information on the movie's events? Or do they feel they can perhaps gauge interest using these sites to then set up potential franchises (which, in both these movies cases, would seem pretty hard to do).

Thanks!

Hey Alex,

Does Matt have some dirty pictures of you? You had to eat the shit sandwich that was Jack & Jill, Chipwrecked, Twilight, and New Year's Eve within the past couple of months. I even remember a podcast where the two of you discussed that if one person saw Alvin & the Chipmunks then the other would have to see New Year's Eve, but you ended up seeing both anyways. You are getting a raw deal, man.

I love Screened, keep up the great work!

Hey Matt and Alex,

Two questions if you don't mind:

1. There are a lot of "rip-off" movies that come off the interest and success of bigger films. Transmorphers came from Transformers, Paranormal Entity from Paranormal Activity, and many more I could name. Have there been any that you have found better than the ones they are ripping, or at least ones that are tolerable enough to watch?

2. I have always found the act of clapping at the end of a film to be weird. It would be one thing if people who made the film were in the theater, but just to clap to show your approval has always been awkward with me. What is your take of applause once the film is over?

Hello Matt and Alex,

My recent wanderings on Netflix has created a deep obsession with Korean movies. Thrillers, dramas, and comedies: I'm watching everything and loving it.

So what's up with Korea? What do they got that everyone else aint got?

And have you seen "Castaway on the Moon"? It has quickly become one of my top all time favorite movies. If you haven't seen it, it would definitely be well worth your time. I'd be interested in hearing what you think.

Hey Alex and Rorie,

Recently I've been thinking about how much I love the movie 300, and how cool it would be to see a special 3D version in theatres with a bunch of cool shit we've never seen before.

Would you guys like to see 3D00 as well?

Hearing Alex talk casually about interviewing the likes of Michael Fassbender and Nicolas Winding Refn, I have to ask, and I get that you're professionals, but is there a celebrity (actor, writer, director etc) that you could see yourself geeking out over to the point that you'd have trouble keeping your composure in an interview? I'd like to think that if I met the likes of Warren Ellis or Mike Nelson that I'd keep my bladder in check, but I also know that's a lie.

Hey guys,

A portion of underworld awakening was shot at my university and from what I can tell from the trailer it involves gunfights and blowing up one of our biggest buildings. My question is have you ever gone to see a movie just because you are very familiar with the location and want to see a film in that setting (or blown up because I do)?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hey Rorie, did you know that it's been ten years since the Resident Evil film series got its start? Also, I feel like ten years/five films is enough. Obviously Resident Evil is just too profitable for Sony to stop, so rebooting the series is the next best thing. Do you think Sony will ever consider rebooting the Resident Evil series?

Yo guys! What genre of movies do you think has had very weak output recently? I think it has to be comedies, personally. I feel all the good writers are now on TV shows (It's Always Sunny, Parks and Rec, Archer), so it's rare where I would champion a comedic film.

Hope you guys are feeling better (I'm just guessing, you guys always sound so damn tired in each podcast lol).

Hey screenedpups not really a movie question as much as a screened question but I recently had a dream where for whatever reason Rorie read Dave Snyder's notes on Starcraft 2 and the phrase X, Starcraft bub popped up for some reason. Any chance you could shed some light on this or why Dream Dave's notes included this phrase?

Ok Screened. I've waited long enough. Let's settle this once and for all, best living actor; Kurt Russel or Nic Cage!

So recently I realized that movies are not distributed digitally for purchase, with the exception of iTunes. Anything, like lovefilm or Netflix, is just streaming and rental for a flat monthly fee. But I can't log into my amazon account (or whatever) and purchase just one movie and have it download to my computer so that I can watch it forever after. I'm curious as to why you guys think this is. I would think that having something like Steam, only for movies instead of video games, would be quite profitable.

As a sort of related question, I'm interested in your opinions on how movies (and tv shows) are distributed to different countries, especially when it comes to websites. An example: I used to watch the Daily Show from the official website, but now I can no longer access it in the UK. So now I pirate copies of it. I can only assume that the reason I can't watch it in the UK anymore is something to do with copyright law. So the very thing that was created to protect intellectual property has now created an internet pirate (me). Go figure.

Also sorry for the long question...I suppose you could just pick one of the topics instead of talking about both. They just seem very related to me.

Dear Matt and Alex,

The American Academy failed to drive a nomination for "Star Spangled Man" from the Captain America movie.

The Academy is displaying an extremely loud and incredibly close communist agenda. Confirm or Deny.
