This is a question for Alex.

With all of these techno bands doing film soundtracks, I want to know, what metal band would you like to see do a soundtrack? I personally think that if Steel Panther did a Neveldine and Taylor movie it would be the most baller thing ever.

Hey Guys,

Do you think it is too premature for movie companies to talk about, or in some cases begin to plan sequels before the first film is even out? That Amazing Spider-Man sequel business made headlines a little while ago, but they have already begun to talk about a Real Steel 2 more than a week (at the time I am writing this) before the first one is out.

What's your favorite movie marketing tie-in? While Hop was a terrible movie putting that rabbit on bags of carrots was somewhat clever.

Most films nowadays seem to be color corrected to a very orangey and bluey tinge. Do you think that this will make current movies look very dated to future eyes, just like technicolor films look to us?

I'm currently re-watching Alias and working on the Screened page at the same time. Your discussion about the final season of TV series got me wondering what Rorie thought of the Alias final season. I feel the show went steadily downhill until they got canceled and were finally able to wrap things up. As a result I thought the last season was pretty great. Thoughts?

Hey guys, I'm thinking of changing my username because I think the numbers at the end of it are really dumb. I've narrowed it down to two choices: "PatVanBrunt" or "PatVB"

I like "PatVB" because it's shorter and (I think) easier to remember, but that name is taken on Twitter. Do you think it's better to have different names on different sites or to keep the same, less desirable name everywhere?

Sometimes it seems like a movie gets made without really knowing where the script is going and it appears to have a lot of pointless material thrown in to meet a 90 minute run time. Is there any movie that if given full editing power over you think you could improve and what movies would they be and what would you want to change?

I currently edited my own version of Max Payne and cut 40 minutes from the movie and gave it a new intro and manages to pace the movie better. I also worked with AVP Requiem and Spider-Man 3.

Hey Alex and Rorie, I'm a pretty recent Star Trek fan I love the J.J.Abrams movie, Wrath of Khan, and Voyage Home and have just recently started The Next Generation so far the first season is a bit of a slow burn but I keep hearing from people that it only gets better so I have decided to persevere. So I just wanted to ask what is your personal favorite Star Trek movie, TV series, and character if you can think of one on the spot. Thanks

/After watching the first season of the wire while completely loving it one of the things that almost ruined the show to me was all of the Verizon advertising particularly in the middle of the season and was wondering if advertising had ruined a film for you.

also after seeing drive I thought that it might be a good idea if the driver had a sequel in a similar vain to the man with no name and can Alex please tell me why this is a terrible idea. Thanks and love the website.

Sup

Is human centipede jumping the shark already by pulling the it was a movie but now look at what happens in the real word bit? Normally this happens in the 4th or 7th installments in a series when will we get a Human Centipede in space?

Hey guys,

tl;dr version: How do you avoid getting cynical about the film industry? Or do you just let the cynicism take over?

The site seems to strive on quite a bit of sarcasm towards the industry in general. I've noticed the trend becoming more prominent as the site has been going on for longer (specifically, very few of the trailer blurbs you guys use tend to be positive or genuine attempts at actual descriptions of the films themselves). I'm just wandering how do you avoid becoming completely jaded about the industry when you are intimately aware of its failings and faults, and see it repeat the same things year after year? There are far too many sites out there that are either completely fanboyish and fawning over any attention they may receive from the industry or completely jaded and cynical, ready to tear down any film that doesn't meet their exacting standards. I guess, tangentially, this is also a question about the ethos or mission statement for Screened as well...

Keep up the great work!
