Hey guys; what are some of your favorite movie clichés that are completely unreal?

One of my favorites is the detective that sees some suspicious substance on the floor; tastes it, and immediately knows what it is, sometimes even giving you the exact chemical composition!

Who would taste anything from the floor, first of all, but also, I don't know about you, but I couldn't tell if something is gasoline or battery acid by having a taste!

Sup

Is human centipede jumping the shark already by pulling the it was a movie but now look at what happens in the real word bit? Normally this happens in the 4th or 7th installments in a series when will we get a Human Centipede in space?

Hey guys.

I've been listening to "Behind the Screen Door" since the first episode and love the show.

My question is this.

Have you guys seen Kevin Smith's horror/thriller flick "Red State"? If so, what did you think of it? And what do you think of the way Smith has gone about getting the movie to people, such as his "Red State Tour" and the direct-to-video option? Do you know of any other big-named directors that have tried this method of distribution?

What is your favorite film from your year of birth? Mine is a three-way tie between Scream, The Arrival, and The Rock.

1996 was a great year for film.

In prepping for a lengthy car trip I decided to go through my Blu Ray collection and transfer a few digital copies onto to my PC to stock up my iPhone for the monotony. Much to my surprise most of the movies that I owned had digital copies that had expired.

Copies of the film that exist as actual physical media on a real DVD in the case that I bought and purchased. As a digital download I can understand maybe removing them from servers to make bandwith for newer films but to say that the data on a DVD has expired and is useless because I didn't activate a code on something I own just seems super shady to me.

I ended up going through all my movies that included digital copies and some studios didn't have fine print expiration dates while others have printed dates on them yet don't enforce it. And on the other hand studios like Warner Brothers have ensured I'll never watch any of their films on the go by having dates mere months after the films release. What do you guys think of this, do the studios have a right to sell you a product on physical media then deactivate it because you didn't use it fast enough?

What are some of your favorite opening titles and theme songs to TV shows?

Some personal favorites was the opening titles to Homicide only in the first few seasons and The Simpsons also had a great intro.

Hey guys! At what point do you start to consider someone to be "box-office poison"? Your conversation about Anna Faris' less than great movie career has me wondering if it's time to place her in "B.O.P" territory, of if there are other things to consider that would prevent that from being the case. Also, on the last podcast, Alex mentioned that he would like to hear someone like Mastodon do a soundtrack, and I wanted to know if he was aware that they did the score for Jonah Hex? (It also featured a cameo from Brent Hinds)

David Warner will always be best known by me as Jon Irenicus from Baldur's Gate 2, but I understand that he has quite a respectable film career as well. On the other hand: he was in the MST3K classic exercise in fantasy misery Quest of the Delta Knights playing not only the Obi-Wan Kenobi-type mentor, but the main villain as well!

What are your guys' favorite examples of a well-respected actor shamelessly slumming it?

The movie Clue is one of my favorite movies but I can't seem to find anything similar in recent memory.

Are there any more modern "who-dun-its" that really stand-out?

Thanks guys, love the podcast, make it longer.

Jeremy from Chicago

Hey guys love the podcast keep it up.

So I also write for a website where I write video game reviews and features. I have found that sometimes I have trouble concentrating unless I am wearing headphones and playing music. Generally something without words my most frequent choice is the Tron Legacy soundtrack. My question is do you two have things you have to do before or during your writing to keep yourself focused and less distracted?

Also thanks for answering a previous question of mine it was great feeling and your responses filled me with confidence.

Hey guys,

Never really watched any of the James Bond movies. Is it worth my time to look into this series? Do they need to be watched in any order?

Thanks Gentleman

Here's a tough one:

Black Christmas or Halloween? OBVIOUSLY the originals, NOT the crappy remakes.
