Is there a movie you've watched an embarrassingly amount of times?

Mine is Titan A.E. I watched that something along the lines of 20 times throughout my life. It was only recently that I found out that the main characters were voiced by Matt Damon and Drew Barrymore when I watched it this year on Netflix streaming which brings me to my second question.

Is hiring expensive and well-known actors for animated movies really worth the percentage of the budget they take up?

David Warner will always be best known by me for his amazing turn as Jon Irenicus from Baldur's Gate 2, but I understand that he has quite a respectable film career as well. On the other hand: he was in the MST3K classic exercise in fantasy misery "Quest of the Delta Knights," playing not only the Obi-Wan Kenobi-type mentor, but the main villain as well.

What are your guys' favorite examples of a well-respected/beloved actor shamelessly slumming it?

Hey Alex and Rorie, I'm a pretty recent Star Trek fan I love the J.J.Abrams movie, Wrath of Khan, and Voyage Home and have just recently started The Next Generation so far the first season is a bit of a slow burn but I keep hearing from people that it only gets better so I have decided to persevere. So I just wanted to ask what is your personal favorite Star Trek movie, TV series, and character if you can think of one on the spot. Thanks

So Rorie jokingly mentioned that the Human Centipede 3 could be an amazing social commentary, and this led my mind in a dark direction. What if the Human Centipede concept was used in a movie with the tone and logical free form of Synecdoche, New York. Think about it--a mad scientist/artist in an attempt to make a genuinely true artistic statement, starts surgically uniting people in the ultimate expression of humanity. After years of righteous struggle, every person in the world is apart of the centipede and some universal epiphany is never reached. Thoughts?

Hello gentlemen,

I did a little research and discovered that Real Steel had a better domestic box office opening than Warrior, The Fighter, and Rocky Balboa. Does this mean when it comes to movies about things getting punched in the face people favor robot face punching over human face punching?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hey guys,

Do you have any future plans for more informal video features at home, like Rorie's Harry Potter marathon? I really enjoyed the vibe from that, and the unfiltered reactions and thoughts that came out of it. How about catching up on your weekly DVR'd TV shows?

Also, this would give us an opportunity to see the lovely Alex on camera once again, which would clearly cause a spike in traffic from female readers.

Has their ever been a recycled sound effect that has taken you out of a movie you were watching. I ask this because I was watching The Prestige and it had a very familiar cat growling noise.

Hey guys! At what point do you start to consider someone to be "box-office poison"? Your conversation a while back about Anna Faris's less than great movie career has me wondering if it's time to place her in "B.O.P" territory, of if there are other things to consider that would prevent that from being the case. Also, Alex mentioned that he would like to hear someone like Mastodon do a soundtrack, and I wanted to know if he was aware that they did the score for Jonah Hex? (It also featured a cameo from Brent Hinds)

Hi guys! Sorry I don't post or contribute…at all. I get ridiculously busy a lot. Love the podcast and all the insanely hard work you and all the freelancers do for the site.

First, a quick response or two to the questions last week: my birth year film, despite all that came out that year, is Army of Darkness. Because Nope, don't even need to explain that. And as for TV intros, I know you guys don't plan to get into it anytime soon, if at all, but you should watch the opening to Dexter. It falls under the category of a great theme that goes for nearly two minutes, but there's something about it for me that kept me from wanting to skip past it even when I was watching the entire first and second seasons back-to-back.

Anyways, I've wanted to ask this question for awhile now; and just been too lazy to do so. One of the artists at my uni course is also a filmmaker with a few friends; and they gave everyone at class a few months ago copies of their first production, "The Powder Clock". It's a 40 minute character piece about a group of twelve people in an arena-style game of Russian Roulette, watching as they argue, drink and bleed through the final hours of their lives.

I won't waste time by talking about it in-depth here, but I really enjoyed it, despite the obvious flaws it does have; and have watched it multiple times. I found it quite good, especially for their comparatively small-scale production; and I'm wondering if you, Rorie, would be interested in me sending the DVD over to the Whiskey offices. I'm not asking for a review; I just thought you might enjoy it some.

Thanks again for the podcast and the site and for somehow not collapsing under such a responsibility.

Recently I have been watching and reading a lot of Sci-Fi. I think the thing I love most about Sci-Fi is the universe that is created. I find myself often caring more about the world the characters are in rather than the characters themselves. My question is what Sci-Fi universe would you want to live in and why? Mine would most likely be Star Wars because of all of the interesting technology and how easy space travel seems.

Some suggestions: Blade Runner, Avatar, Tron, Aliens, Matrix, X-Men.

What are your thoughts on the youtube critics, such as the likes of Jeremy Jahns, Schmoes Know and Chris Stuckmann? Also, what are your thoughts on the whole youtube community in general? Would you say the whole thing is really stupid? I do.

Thank you for answering. GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys, Long time Listener First Time Caller

With the release of Horrible Bosses and Green Lantern we Blu Ray / DVD / Digital Copy aficionados were treated with the introduction of something new. UltraViolet Digital Streaming Digital Copies of the movie we love. Traditionally you received a code which worked to download a copy of the movie from Itunes or the studios own download service. UltraViolet side steps all of this a streams the movie to your smartphone/tablet/PC or top set box, for an agreed upon 5 year minimum from the date of the movies release you will be able to stream the movie via the Flixster app, which as of this question still does not work with the majority of apple devices. The debut of this new feature on such discs as Green Lantern and even Horrible Bosses only a handful of people may even realize or complain that they where unfairly advertised an actual "digital copy " they could own versus lease. With the planned implementation of this feature on Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Part 2 and the rise of data plan charges across the board for tablet and smart phone owners do you see new type of digital security going the way of many of the past obsolete "security" precautions or will more studios other than Warner Brothers begin implementing their own similar services?

hey guys, did you ever consider doing video reviews of new films that are out in the cinema. i know you have a small staff so doing too many different features is a pain for you, but you could do it same was as giantbomb, meaning only the biggest movies get video reviews
